the xmen would win, they are much much much smarter, all the JLA have is batman and MM, and MM is the only telepath, and a weak one compared to the xmen, who have proffeser X, jean, and CABLE whos is a just as good strategist a batman. as for power the pheonix could out do MM, colossus is probably as strong and as durable as superman, cyclops is usles but has cool glases, and storm would cause some major problems for aqua man, wonder woman would be beat sensles by rouge, and bishop could absorb GLs rings energy and have one hell of a blast. and beast is smart as hell, and agile and strong enough to do damage to most of the JLA. archangel with his healing and his funky sword would take out hawkman no prob, and wolverine would run around stabbing ramdom people

Hmm. Collosuss *spelling* is no where near supermans level, Cyclops is useless yes, but Rogue would get jammed on by wonder woman.
Indeed, Superman alone would take out the X-men, trust me, if the Juggernaut could do it, then so can the man-O-Steel...
Even if the Superman taking out the entire X-men is debatable add the Green lantern(one of the most powerful beings in the universe), John Jones(Supreme alien being who's debatably on the level of Superman), Batman(A sociopathic "genius" who can decipher ANY plan to defeat unbeatable semi-gods), Wonder-Woman-whom can handle Rogue, one of X-mens heavy hitters, The flash-ehhh, he would...err..be...ummm..THERE!!
Face it, the JLA is just too cheesily "overpowered" individually to be beaten by the more "realistic" and humanistic X-men..Superman alone vs the X-men would have been a better thread, this isn't even debatable to me...
Don’t have much knowledge on the 2 teams but still have a go, Couldn’t Xavier just turn the whole team against each other? Or with his telepathy physically/mentally paralyse the JLA or using mental bolts render the JLA unconscious and they couldn’t stop him as the X-men could just distract them or Xavier could use astral projection 2 deceive them (read about this power on marvel directory) while he is doing that jean could protect him with her force field. If Xavier had his psionic powers may have a better chance, able 2 do more.
Not sure how powerful of a telepath the Martian Manhunter maybe he is on the same level as jean on telepathy but not as Xavier, so am going with this idea, know he is powerful in other ways i.e. strength, invisibility, & shapeshifting abilities, think some of his mental abilities do seem more advanced then jean & Xavier, but am still going 2 say Xavier is more powerful, overall think he can do more with his powers as they are better.
Maybe contradicting myself in the above paragraph, LOL.
Read somewhere that when the MM uses his mental abilities, it weakens him, he is vulnerable 2 fire, maybe X-men could use these 2 there advantage.
Not sure Flash could easily knock down the telepaths, they could easily slow him down with there mind.
If MM can protect Batman's mind from being probed, as batman knows everyone’s weakness (think) couldn’t jean or xavier just unblock that or am I being naïve again lol.
Anyway X-men win, having said that it also depends how many & which members each team has. Even with powerful beings, Hal Jordan (as Spectre or Parallax), or Kyle Rayner as Ion, not sure who they r but read it on this site, so having said that, I would still have to say x-men they have nate grey, phoenix and many more powerful beings.
I think without xavier they would lose as jeans telepathy isnt as powerful as xavier and wouldnt be able to do some of the above and i dont think no-one is as strong enough to defeat superman, BUT if u can include phoenix then i will say x-men again.
