Naqadar walked over to Dumi and placed his hands on his shoulders and leaned over to whisper in his ear.
"I know who you are to her and I know what you do. If you ever hurt her, I'll kill you myself. Have a nice evening."
Naqadar walked up to the end of the line and began some chit-chat conversation with someone.
Zafira had seen the pharoah approach Dumi. Dumi looked affled by whatever Naqadar. She quickly filled two plates and walked over to the table. She set one in front of Dumi and the other in front of her. Dumi nodded his thanks. He was still troubled. He had never hit Zafira before the other day. He didn't know what caused him to loose it.
Naqadar got his plate full of food and started walking back to the table when he was met by a royal messenger. He stopped and dropped his plate. Food spilled everywhere. He stared for a little while then ran upstairs. He soon was running back downstairs with full battle armor on. He stopped at an advisor and then ran off to his horse...
The crowd was still in shock. What had happened that was so terrible that he would abandon a feast for the dead? No one knew and no one was talking...Many rushed to the door and saw it...The pyramid was collapsing(the pyramids are on the outskirts of town)...His father's temple which wasn't even finished was being destroyed by a few catapolts(sp?) there were what seemed to be a couple hundred soldiers standing around, obviously waiting for a fight...Why they didn't already attack was a mystery. Why the scouts hadn't seen them was even more of a mystery.
((wow this game moves fast))
Rameses had just started on his food when the crowd started collapsing in the direction of the door. He pushed his way through the townspeople, and he saw what was happening. It was then that he understood why the new king had been so friendly towards them. He had seen the attack coming, and was trying to get them in their favor. He wasn't sure whether to be disgusted or afraid. He was a little bit of both.
(lol, He saw nothing comming...)
Naqadar hopped on his horse and rode out of the stable. Stopped at the main entrance to the palace.
"Guard! Get them inside the basement, lock the doors! Seal the windows! I want my personal body guards guarding the hallways while this is going on! Let no one in for two full days!"
He rode off toward his gathering army.
((no it's not that he had somebody destroy the pyramid, but he's been "buttering up" the villagers to be in his favor so they didn't think the attack was his fault... I know that's not what happened, but Rameses doesn't trust royalty 😉 ))
Rameses ran away from the scene as fast as he could. Being locked up in a basement for two days sounded an awful lot like prison to him. Fortunately, his horses had been paying a visit to the farrier, and his mother and brother were with him. He hopped nimbly on Ahmose's back, waited for Ikeny and his mother to get on Kem, and followed Dumi and Zafira.
The battle raged on for about an hour and both sides were very tired...They both withdrew practically at the same time, gradually...Fighting as they backed off.
The Egyptians set up a camp on the outskirts of town, Naqadar didn't want the attackers to destroy any more of the pyramids.
"Send a scout to follow them. And be quick about it!"
Rameses led Zafira and Dumi through the streets of the village. He found a house that looked friendly, and knocked on the door. An elderly woman answered the door. "Can I help you?", she asked.
"May we... Stay the night in your house?" The woman nodded after a pause, and motioned them inside. "Thank you," Rameses said with a respectful nod.
Soon, a white flag of truce was waved by the enemy, a sign for the leaders to meet. It was customary to go alone.
Naqadar rode up to the flag.
"What is the meaning of this attack? Where are you from? Who are you?" He asked.
"Who I am and where I'm from is not a concern of yours. We attacked you to destroy anything remaining of Heris, the last pharoah. He killed our families and now you and your people will pay for it. If my assassin would have done his job, this wouldn't have happened. We can end this now, without hundreds more of our people dieing. Let us duel, Pharoah."
"I'm not aware of any military action while my father was ruling. He was a peaceful man..."
"Camelshit! You will die now!"
The masked man hopped off his horse and clotheslined Naqadar. He fell to the ground and a sword swiped at him as he rolled away, nearly missing his head. He stood up and withdrew his sword. They swiped at each other and blocked for some time. Then, the two locked swords and the masked man kicked Naqadar in the gut then gave him a hit on the head with his sword, knocking him out. He woke up in custody of the enemy...
