Most people I know listen to really shitty music.. though to be fair I do live in the south.

If I ever heard of a good underground show down here I'd sure as hell go, friends or no friends. It'd be cool to be in a place full of people who like the same shit as me..

I'm extremely lazy when it comes to concerts (lazy as in: I don't go to any) but I've made a commitment to see some underground shit if they come to Sac in the near future. My friend has seen Blackalicous which pisses me off to no end.

Speaking of Blackalicious, liked The Craft. Nowhere near as good as Blazing Arrow and I'd put Nia ahead of it also. Production was great on most tracks and weak on others "Side by Side" the main culprit. Gab still brought it hard. Great album, not their best though.

Aren't Blackalicious from Sac Dr.S?

Gab and Chief first met up in Sac. I'm pretty sure both are originally from Davis which is about 20 minutes from Sac.

Cool.
I remember reading online a few months ago that Aesop and Mr Lif played at the Auckland (NZ) Big Day Out 2004, i was crushed. Because nobody had heard of them they were not advertised at all, otherwise wild horses wouldnt have kept me away. We struggle to get big names here so i doubt if any of the underground names are gonna be heading to lil old NZ any time soon.

thats shitty, someone tole me some people from p & c records are supposed to be comin down to kingston pretty soon, i dont care who it is from the label, im gonna head down to that for sure.

I just got into labor days like a week ago, it really blew me away. I found aesop really annoying the first time i heard him but i got past the voice and now i dont mind it at all. Any suggestions for the next aesop album or should i just go in the order that he put em out and get his earlier ones too.

I've only got Labor Days so i'm not sure first hand what you should get next. I've heard Float was good albeit a bit raw and Bazooka Tooth is a bit bizarre and takes a while to get used to. I've heard a few tracks off the Fast cars, danger, fire and knives EP and i'd recommend that.
I hope you get to see the P&C crew live man, of course we would expect a full review.

Labor Days is easily the best. Bazooka Tooth is way too unfocused, El-P's worst production too date. Float is the next best to Labor Days IMO.

And back to the hip-hop shows thing, I've seen X-Ecutioners, Atmosphere and El-P.

What was EL-P like man? Did he have any of the other DefJux clan with him?

I'll check float out and listen to the few songs i already have from fast cars, danger & knives and see what i think. I heard good things about the P & C shows from a couple of my friends, i just gotta get a fake in time for the show when it comes 😂

hey im trying to get one of my buddies into rap but the only stuff he listens to is ICP. What are sum similar stuff to that? i was thinking necro but i dont really know his good songs. so can u guys reccomned sum good somgs of the icp kinda style. thx

Necro has like all of 5 good songs, the rest of it is shit, believe me i used to be right into him. I'll give u the best songs from this whole label.

heres some good ones:
robbery
violins of violence
circle of tyrants
your ****in head slpit
get on ya knees
underground
east new york goons freestyle
i need drugs
white slavery

some good ones by ill bill:
nuthin
american history x
the illest
our life
glenwood projects

some goretex ones:
last 100 days of sodom (these 3 are dope beats)
the big sleep
new america

heres some from mr hyde:
street veteran (1 of the best from this whole camp)
weapons of mass destruction
the crazies
them
barn of the naked dead (a little too violent for me)

sabac is ok, least violent outta all of them for sure:
wcr freestyle
urban gorillas
sabocolypse
p.o.w.'s

wut the necro song where u hear kinda like a pop boy band singing at the start then u heara gunfire and it goes rite into the beat?

must be new, havent heard it.

underground has somethin like that but its an old school band at the start w/o gunshots
