El-P and Mr. Lif are in the lab now working on the follow up to Mr. Lif's classic debut solo album I Phantom! The record will be produced almost entirely by El-P, with guest production by Oh-No and a few other esteemed producers. the as of now untitled album promises to be Mr. Lif's most incredible work to date, picking up on the gritty story telling and bboy social commentary that he introduced so savagely on I Phantom. The album will be wrapped and delivered on Feb. 1st, upon which El-P will finish not only his own follow up to Fantastic Damage, entitled I'll Sleep When You're Dead, but the next Cannibal Ox album as well.

my top 20 of fave 20 (dead or alive, mainstream or underground)
1. Nas ---> Illmatic, imo is the best hiphop album. nasty nas is truly unfukkwitable back in 94. the last real nigga dropping right now.
2. Big Pun ---> Capital Punishment, prolly "would be" the best lyricist if dropped more albums. his flow is kinda weak tho.
3. Biggie smalls ---> R2D, LAD, born again. the nigga with the unbeatable catalogue, seriously. best hiphop flow of all time... voice is thick as mollasses.
4. big L ---> the big picture. you know i gotta put *HARLEM* up here! a bad ass lyricist... king of punchlines if you ask me.
5. Jay-z ---> Reasonable Doubt. the heavyweight champion of flowing... he took the title from biggie. probly higher in my list if he didnt bit a lot of biggie lines.
6. Ice Cube ---> AMW, death certificate. the West Coast GOAT! forget pac, snoop or ras kass!
7. Rakim --->Paid in full. the originator of the new school. ra influenced so many artist, nas included. too bad he cant cope up with the change.
8. Jadakiss ---> Kiss the game goodbye. the king of mixtapes! heavyweight punchline rapper.
9. AZ ---> no classic but still. took the game by surprise.."visualizin the realism of life and actuality." HOTDAMN! ill mufukka!
10. DMX ---> no classic. the best grimey voice ever! one of my favorites for real.
11.MF Doom ---> operation doomsday is very near to classic status. doom is one artistic MC, best underground mc IMO. could do less with the comic skits tho.
12. Andre 3000 ---> ATLiens. the south's GOAT. one of the illest/realest/most creative to touch the mic.
13. Kool G. Rap ---> some say roots of evil is his best work but i like the giancana story more. top 3 in flowing category.
14. Ghostface Killah --->OB4CL, supreme clientele. i know cuban linx is rae's shit but ghost just outshined rae in every track. (altho nas killed it with verbal intercourse!)
15. Common ---> ressurection. 1994 is really the best year in hip-hop, and he still managed to compete with this album. the midwest GOAT!
16. Prodigy ---> Infamous, HOE. aaahh... i hate seeing P turn into fif's lap dog. but that's still my nigga.
17. Immortal Technique --->revolution vol.1 illest lyrics and flow, he can really make it into mainstream if this dude wants too. dance with the devil is my shit. *bumps rev. vol.1*
18. Scarface ---> The Fix is a classic to me. lyrics are simplistic but the delivery is awesome... 'face is what Pac is tryna be
19. Redman---> muddy waters!!! the black slim shady... **** that, em is the white funk doc. em even said red is his #1 mc, seriously.
20. Cam'Ron---> no not a token pick. id be the first to admit this dudes lyrics are wack but he got an ill flow and for me it's entertaining. (not to mention we went to the same high school =)
