And seeing as the taste in this thread (read back if you wanna check this) ranges from 50 Cent, Nas to Grandmaster Flash, NWA and all the way back to Cannibal Ox and Immortal Technique, i.e. the ENTIRE hip-hop spectrum, you're basically saying all hip-hop is devoid of taste, no?

I think he'll be ok. Ox 2 will be more of a collective effort, so I'll be judging all three together. I'm sure Vast can hold in down but I doubt he'll ever reach his work on Cold Vein.

You're judging the wrong hip-hop buddy. Don't judge it because of what you see on TV and hear on the radio. Hip-hop goes beyond television. I'm sure you just haven't been able to hear real hip-hop. Stick around here and you'll see what's up.
Hip-hop on TV is there to make money. They do it more as a job than for the love. That's what makes "underground" and independent hip-hop so great. They do it for the love. The craft. If you're a purist, underground is where it's at. So maybe you're just looking in the wrong places. Give it a chance though. The REAL stuff. We'll all be happy to give you some good suggestions. Even upload some songs for you to check out.
