Kool my man! What's up homie. Unfortunately I haven't been too good lately. Been dealing with a high fever and severe headaches but I'm getting better and that's all I can ask for. Been missing a lot of work too because of it, so that kinda sucks because you know I likes getting paid. Other than that watching my beloved Suns in the playoffs. Man I'm lovin it. Boy do they have heart. You gotta love it man. Injury after injury and they just keep fighting. All I can ask for. Can't wait for tonight's game. Can't friggin wait!As far as hip-hop goes I've been bumpin The Danger Mouse and Jemini album on my ipod. Some RJD2, Asheru and Blue Black, and Count Bass D.
How about you man? It's been a minute. Give me an update man. Hope the fam is doing well and hip-hop has been treating you well. Let me know what's up!
Hope you're feeling better soon man, im sure a Suns win tonight will help on the road to recovery. They have shown alot of heart in these playoffs, with their style of play i keep expecting their players to get worn down but they just keep on ticking. They will be scary next year when Thomas and Stat are back.
Im pretty broke at the moment so i havent been listening to anything new, mostly old Roots albums. I've been listening to alot of soul lately like Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and Otis Redding, i was raised on that music and its sometimes nice to take a walk down memory lane.
The family's good, a lovely wife and 2 healthy kids is all i can ask for. Im trying to get my oldest into hoops (he's a big Kobe fan, i cant think where he got that from) they've just started playing at his school and im gonna make sure he houses those other kids. 😈
PM me man and we can talk some more when you're free.
Peace. 😮💨

Yes it did, esé. Like lil bitchiness said; it started because we weren't allowed to have belts in the Big House. And when we got released, crazy vato's like myself continuing sagging our pants because we were used to it, we had not even seen a belt for so long. And before you knew it, little 12-year-old kids were doing it because it was "cool" all of the sudden.
actually my prof agrees with that shit...
but a couple of ny cats disagreed with it, including me, cause it is what it is.... what year did you do time... and where? no beef. i just wanna know
and did everybody forget that krs, rakim and leaders of the new school were the first ones, as far im concerned, rocking loose clothes back in the 80's?its more of an expression/statement more than anything else...
It's not really an issue as to whether you and some "cats" believe it didn't begin in prison, it's a fact that it began that way, not too sure why you're trying to debate that. You just need to brush up on the history, that's all.
"Gangsta rap became one of the most prevalent styles of hip hop, and by the mid-1990s, hip hop fashion had taken on significant influence from the dress styles of street thugs and prison inmates. Much of today's hip hop fashions, most specifically the wearing of baggy pants and black ink tattoos, are commonly attributed with being initially inspired by the street fashions of the cholos (Chicano gangsters) on the West Coast. This style of fashion along with its associated hand signs and territorial or "homeboy" mentality was then adopted by the African-American youth initially in Los Angeles which then quickly transferred to the hip hop community at large. An example of this is the wearing of baggy clothes, often without the use of a belt for the pants, which originated from prison where belts are among the first things confiscated while new inmates are being given their uniforms."

im not talking bout gangsta rap....

Read the whole quote, not just the first two words and then stop. Read the whole thing.
It doesn't matter who was first as far as you are concerned, what matters is how it actually did start, and that's from prison inmates.
It's a poor thing when you have just spend pages saying how hip hop you are, how hip hop "culture" is what you know and then we discover you to be completely void of any knowledge regarding the history of it.

Yep, cholos like myself started that shit, and in a very short period of time Black and Native American gangstas were copying us.
It began out west and then eventually went east, Point.

You really are running out of ideas, aren't you?
I don't believe everything I read, but I believe facts. You're wrong, you should just take it and let it drop. The more this continues, the more you look silly. I don't need to see it first hand, it's a fact. I don't need to see gang life in Los Angeles to know that it exists, or why.

You can continue this crusade all you want, fact says that you are wrong. You don't have to experience something to know that it's a fact. I've never personally been to the Sun, but it's hot there.

No, I didn't say I knew them did I? I said I knew that it came from prison dress codes, which it did.
Regardless of what you think, that IS where it came from. It's a known fact. It doesn't matter WHO started it, what matters is WHERE. Where did it start? In prison.

Oralé! You vato's back east certainly have added your own flavor to thug style. But Chicanos in Cali and AZ started that shit, homes. 😎

Transportation of Drugs Across State Lines. I got busted at the California/Arizona border, when I stopped at an Inspection Stop and a Police dog smelled the massive amount of coke in my car. It was about 3 in the morning.
I also had a bunch of past-priors.
