I think his voice is just truly annoying.

Within the context of The Wu-Tang Clan I can stand him, but the only solo album I like is Ironman.

aesop rock is like that, but his songs have hidden meaning in them, of course i never know what it is, but i still like listening to him.

It doesn't matter, really.

If you get something out of it, the purpose is achieved. That's what music is about, the fact that you could play a song to ten different people and have them imagine different things.

Gotta agree there, i dont respond to having verses screamed at me like he does. I like the way he dialed it back on the DangerDoom album, you could still tell who it was but it didnt seem over the top.
I dunno maybe its just the way he is but its not really my taste. My favourite emcee to listen to voice wise is Black Thought followed by Common.

I listen to screamy rock and metal vocalists, it's not so much that, it just sounds a bit too whiney. The song that really turned me off him was I Can't Go to Sleep.

Chali 2na has the best voice, in my opinion. Meth and Red have really cool voices, but Chali just takes it for me.
