His verse on ''Great Expectations'' is one of my favorites. The ability to use that crazy multi-syllabic flow and actually say something worthwhile is rare and amazing. A lot of rappers, even the great ones like Percee P and the guys from Hangar 18 occasionally end up sounding like they're just putting words and phrases together because they fit into that pattern, but never with Chali. Never a wasted line. He f*cking rules.
I think it's funny that he says "I'm the fish with the carnivorous teeth.", because the teeth aren't carnivorous, the fish is. That's the beauty of it, you don't really care, because he's just that good.
That's what hip hop is meant to be, in my opinion. It epitomises hip hop, really. The whole breaking, having fun, impeccable rhyming. Great song.
You've gotta love that fact that Chali is a guy who could talk and act like a bad ass if he wanted to, but he says "I'll dress up like a shark and breakdance in a furry suit.".
