as for me its the same usual
Mr Lif- Emergency Rations
Immortal Technique- Rev 2
Blacklicious- Blazing Arrow
Jedi Mind Tricks- Violent By Design
and a cd with mixed songs
as for the Blackalicious albums, for me it was
Nia > Blazing Arrow at first but now i listen to Blazing Arrow more.
both are great thumbup
I agree. Both are great. Blazing Arrow always puts me in a good mood even if I'm down. But I enjoy NIA a lot more for its production (Blazing Arrows is just as good, but I like the "beats" on NIA more. However, I can see how somebody would see otherwise) and Gabs flows. He switches it up a lot and they're all great.
Blazing Arrow should be their most popular among casual fans (of hip-hop and music in general). It's their first "commercial" album as some heads would put it, and had the most exposure easily. As for myself, it didn't bother me that they were signed to a major label. I knew the music would still be great, just more "catchy", I guess you could say.
Exactly, you could never label Blackalicious as commercial. The shit that sells at the moment is wannabe gangstas talking about how many guns, cars and hoes they've got. Blackalicious are the complete opposite which tells me they are making the music they want to not because they are driven by the money.
I know this is off topic but after listening to both albums thoroughly I think I actually like Rev Vol 1 more than Vol 2. Not so much in quantity but in quality.. I thought he sounded much more raw on vol 1 and was less repetitive. Anyone else here feel this way? Everyone I know who likes IT agrees that Vol 2 is his best work but I'm starting to question that.

I know what you mean, Vol 1 has got some gems on it. But overall i prefer Vol 2, to me he just seems more focused on the issues he talks about and as hh said the production is streets ahead. Im hoping Techniques new album eclipses them both.
As for Blackalicious, "Shallow days" says it all. Great track.
