What do you guys think of the new British musician Asher, and his album Asleep in the Bread Aisle, the media are calling him 'middle class hip hop', I've only heard one song so far.

Is the album any good, worth getting? Just like your opinions on it.

I gave Asher Roth's album a quick listen, and surprisingly, the album was damn good.

It's music just to chill to. It's not really complex, doesn't have much substance, but it's easy to listen to.

I enjoyed it for the most part.

looking for music.
I personaly dabble hear and there with underground and old school,
stuff like, Doom (not his new stuff), Binary Star, Immortal technique, Canibus, Canibal OX, cunnilinguist, blu, etc. What other underground stuff is really heavy and on that level.

I listened to it yesterday, the best tracks seemed to be towards the end of the album. I'm not a fan of the single out here in Britain at the moment, but the rest of the album seems all right, don't like it enough to buy the whole thing though. I see what you mean about the chill element.

Not sure what you mean by 'Heavy', but these came to mind. Much closer to Immortal Technique than Can Ox.

Not really my everyday music.

My bad, when I say heavy I mean ( topics that have meaning behind them, none of that dance floor bs ) and jedi is something I definitely bump. Uncommon Valor is one of my favorite songs by them.

I was having an argument earlier with a friend. We were discussing who got the best of who in the beef between Canibus and Shady. I was curious to see what my fellow KMC'ers think. I think Canibus laid Shady out but what do you all think?

i lost interest in beefs by the time they got into it so i dont really know. eminem im assuming, hes made a career of insulting people.

hey doom check your pms, i lost the url for that site you gave me and im missin it dearly.

Hey J

I just checked KMC today, sorry for the wait. I actually sent the PM before I read this, so it's waiting there in your box.

Hip-hop has been boring as hell lately. I'm talking EXTREMELY boring. I hate asher roth, ugh.

The only new album I've been really feeling is Diego Bernal's "For Corners". Really really solid stuff. I'll be uploading that to my blog, J, so check it out.

Peace

oh i will, ive got some catching up to do on there. i missed like a month, that blog actually re-ignited my music downloading habits.

You've missed a lot during that time. Tons of stuff has been added.

Check out "Pink Flag" by Wire. It's one of my favorite albums of all-time.

i downloaded 10 or 12 gigs, now i just have to listen to it.

i went through a stale music period where i didnt listen to anything new for almost a year. feels good to be back.

Lately I've become more interested in Hip Hop from France, so far I like Sinik, Seth Gueko, MC Solaar, Rohff, Rim'k and on.

Any recommendations?

I'm not too familiar but I like some of Georges St. Pierres entrance songs before his big fights.

I've got that, first time I've heard the guy, really like it. What's this blog of yours then?

Just heard some of Snowgoons. German rap. Production is great.

Is there a difference between Rap, and Hip Hop? I keep seeing people mention some as Hip Hop, and others as Rap?

I thought it was Hip Hop, and Rap when describing the actual rapping?

I use it interchangeably.

"rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live"- KRS-One

I don't know. Its music. I don't care for the labeling anymore.

Rap/Rapping is an element of Hip-Hop along with DJing, Breakdancing, and Graffiti. Each are considered Hip-Hop, rap is just the act of emceeing.

D00m you recommend any new stuff?

That Pacewon Mr Green is still in rotation.
