it's very understandable for him to be the way he is, given his history. true that he should get over his grudges and move on, but what's there to movtivate to change or help him? nothing and no one by far. hey, umbridge is way worse than snape by a long shot!

I don't believe snape is particularly good or bad. He is a PERSON, with all the intricacies of people everywhere. Yes he has bad points, yes he has an almost childish annoyancy of bearing grudges for decades, but he does do good, he fights Voldemort, he endangers hi life on several occassions for others. He may not be a particularly nice or engaging person, but this does not automatically mean he is bad, or a figure which should be hated.

he needs some lovin from tonks.......... i say tonks b/c that would be GREAT if she was the new DADA teacher...then FOR ONCE..he would not have that loathing resentment towards the person who got that teaching position..but INSTEAD he would fall for her. Plus she's younger....very ummm vibrant and she's in the order too.

I doubt that'd ever happen, Snape and Tonks don't really seem.... right for each other ^_~ If Snape was EVER to get a gf, it'd have to be someone extremely patient, but alot like Snape himself at the same time. Anyways, what makes you people think that Snape'll get a lady friend? Haha, he doesn't really seem the type to get attached if you know what I mean! ^_^

I think Snape should hook up with a loud mouth who embarasses him to death BUT he still luvs her. Hey! Maybe he already has someone! I mean, it doesn't say anywhere in the books that 'Snape is single".

the actor from the movies makes Snape one of the best characters in the book. He ruled as Prince John in that Kostner flick.

Hi people.what if he never changes would you people who like him still admire his style?I don't think anyone is ever going to love him,take Tonks for an example what would she want to do with an always angry git like him?I mean people he was a death eater, how sure are we that he has completely changed?

I dont know if snape becomes a friend of harry,I dont know if he'll save his live and I really don't think,that there is a really GOOD reason for him beiing that unfriendly to harry,I mean he's very intelligent!Intelligent enough to notice that harry isnt like his father but much nicer(personally i cant stand james).
But though i love him(in the book!) becouse he trusts dumbledore and risks his live for people he hates or even doesnt knows,and at least TRIES to save someone who treated him like a dungbowl(when harry told him in umbridges office that sirius got cought,he went straight to dumbledore,didnt,he?)

i think it will change in the sixth book cuz i saw a rumor about him saying that we will find out something huge in book 6... i think it will be that that changes his attitude towards harry
