Leo stopped, his grip slowly tightning on his guns. "What do you know of it?" he snapped, not turning around.

Buddy uncocked his pistols and relaxed, shifting to a more comfortable position under the stair.

"I tell ya what..." he offers calmly, "Finish your business with the Marshall or Commander Jericho, whoever it is you're in a rush to meet, come back here, get me and my lady a room here at the hotel, and I'll tell you what I know about those tin-buckle badasses...

I have some money, not looking for a hand-out... just got some extenuationg circumstances that make it tricky showing our faces in daylight round these parts just now... help me out, I help you, and maybe we can help each other in other ways... what do you say, gun-slinger?"

Leo sighed, he'ld just have to do as the guy said. He needed to find out about his past more than anything else. "Sure" he said storming off into the sheriffs house. More WANTED posters of the two from across the street were posted on the door. Leo ripped them down and threw them onto the floor. He needed to talk to them and couldn't let anyone catch them. He stepped through the door and found the deputy sitting down in his fathers chair with his feet on the table and his hat pushed over his eyes. He had obviously been mistaken to who the man he had come to see was, he could tell by the clothes that this man was the one he had "seen" the previous night, but he wore only a deputy badge. Leo approached the desk and slid a gun out of its holster, it was still cocked from earlier, he aimed out of the window and fired, waking the deputy with a start.

Steve Sanders leaped up with a start, stumbling and fumbling trying to skin his peacemaker and stand up all at once.

"What the--" he cried. "That's a damn good way to get yourself killed, drawing down on a man of the law in the middle of the city! The Army's already busy erecting the gallows this morning... always room for one more maggot at the end of a noose... "

Steve was glad to be awakened, he shouldn't have been sleeping any way, lots of plans to put into place before the hangings, and not much time... he tried to butch up and shake off being startled, by glaring at the man with the gun...

"Now, what's the meaning of this? and it better be good!"

"I would love to stay, but have an appointment," he said, nodding politely, mounting his horse, and heading back down the ridge.

It wasn't but a few hours later when a single horse and rider trotted from town. toward the Vaquero's camp site. A woman was riding, a handsome woman, a dancer or other sort of entertainer from the saloon or hotel lounge. Obviously sent to disarm and intrigue Luis, she made her intentions clear from a safe distance.

"Mr. Cavendish sends his greetings, and wishes to discuss matters of your future employment at his hotel suite, before the hangings today at high noon. Suite 303, in 3 hours, if you're interested..." she smiles, showing plenty of teeth, cleavage and leg as she rides side-saddle, clicks her teeth and gives the horse a nudge around.

"I would suggest a bath before the meeting... hee hee hee..." she laughs, digging her heels in and galloping back to town to collect her payment.

The Army has indeed been busy, the dual gallows are erected as a large T bar in the town square in the middle of town. Jericho was leading the troops, barking orders and rallying the work force to move as quickly as possible, but his role had been reduced to merely a figurehead. Steve Sanders was pulling the strings, from the Marshall's office, getting a feel for the place and the position, while the Marshall himself was mysteriously absent from the entire proceedings.

News of public hangings always tended to draw a decent crowd of well-to-do looky-loos, some by invitation, others by word of mouth and the grapevine from those who were specially invited. Cavendish and his crew from CUR had been so invited, and they brought a wagon-train of other wealthy land barons and businessmen from across the region and state. This was a doubly-special occasion, being that there were now female convicts due to dangle, and not only 1 but two women were scheduled to be strung up for their sins and crimes...

...it was bound to be a Hell of a day...

Greg saw the gallows up, and the two ropes. ‘This can’t be good.’ He wasn’t sure who it was, but he was going to find out. He took his horse, and slowly made his way towards the town, staying far from the main rode.

Riding into town Holly strutted her horse to a post and went to the commotion. Vic and Lily shifted uncomfortably on the hanging site.

Cavendish... It still seemed familiar, if only he could remember where he had heard it before... Luis sat there, staring out at the open prairie, thinking about the offer. "Employment?" what did he mean by that? Wait a second... Hangings? A blank look appeared on his face. Then his eyes widened in realization. Dammit!

Without another thought on the matter, he packed up his camp gear, jumped onto his horse, and headed back into town.

It was nearing 8 o'clock when the word was given that the gallows were completed, and the 'festivities' could begin. A 'VIP box' of comfortable seating, meaning 3 rows of wooden planks lain over sturdy wooden crates, was organized near the bank, and the rest of the arena grounds was roped off for 'civilians and pedestrians', while a row of Army guards stood on the gallows-side of the ropes, each armed with a sabre and a sidearm, to hold off the crowd should anyone get sympathetic to the plight of the female convicts. More Army snipers lay on the roofs of the 4 star, 3 story hotel, the bank, the garrison house, and the livery, the tallest buildings surrounding the square.

The WANTED POSTERS of RENO'S RENEGADES were all removed from the walls around the city that morning, and some were poised as display near the gallows, obviously it was not common public knowledge who the 2 contestants in this game of death actually were... A makeshift podium was also erected near the site; someone was obviously going to speechify and pontificate on the signifigance of this historic occasion.

By 9 o'clock, all was set, and a series of consecutive gun shots alerted all in the square that the Hanging Day would officially commence... 'Marshall' Steve Sanders tested the strength and construction of the gallows, and nodded, shaking the hands and congratulating the 4 foremen in charge of setting the staging area.

"Bring out the convicts!" Sanders shouted, and the Trial of Reno's Renegades began...

((don't everyone start to panic... you all still have from dawn until 9 to post and plot and play thru those hours... as long as the Army and Sanders and the prisoners aren't freed... or I suppose, even if they are... any way, this is the set-up for the high noon hangings, barring unforseen events... you can post some stuff that happens before this though, like meetings and things that were set to occur earlier... OK?

Sanders looked up at Leo's face and changed his mood entirely.
"Leo! I had no idea you'ld get here so fast...."
This seemed to be oing exactly where Leo wanted it to.
"...and where might I ask is your brother, Wolfe?"
"Brother?" Leo asked, without even thinking.
"Oh you two aren't going through this again are you? What did he do this time?"
Leo's mission to find his past required him to be the Leo this man thought he was. He used the same excuse as he had used to get Buddy angry.
"That bastard of a brother slept with my whore. As far as I'm concerned I have no brother."
"Ah well, you can't win them all. Anyway the reason I called for you is because I need some help. You see I've got a bit of a problem with the army, and I need the best bandits around to help me...I immediatly thought of the Raine Brothers, Lion and Wolf..."
And so the truth was shown and Leo's real quest, a quest for redemption, began.

"I will take your silence, and that cold cool expression to mean that you agree..." Sanders continued. "You and your brother are members of the 'real law' behind these tin soldiers we call 'sheriff' and 'marshall'... and leagues above the so-called Regimental Government Army... our simple little band of renegade mercenaries-- Sander's Scorpions, for lack of a better name-- has cornered the market on security and justice in this region, behind the backs and under the noses of all the paper-puppet law of the land...

...it's a secret that's been hidden far too long... and I intend to change all that, starting today. First, we must discredit tin-star and paper soldier law, and make way to install a new governor of Law in its stead... by fracturing the people's faith and trust in the current system, shaming the Army, the Marshalls and the local sheriffs, and bringing to light all the goodness and peace and harmony the Scorpions enforce, the people will stand behind the Scorpions, and will applaud and laud me, the leader of the Scorpion Squad...

it will be the dawn of a whole new day in law enforcement...

And, it all starts today, with the hangings of these Reno's Renegades...

BWAH-HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!" Sanders roared with glee.

((something tells me that Steven Sanders is a little bit deranged...))

**just a note: '3 hours' from Now, 'Now' being 'but a few hours' after the dawn rescue of the wagons scenario, would put Luis in the company of Cavendish, in his 3rd story hotel suite, right before high noon... leading up to... well, where ever it goes from there 😉 😮 😎 😕 **

(((Wheres catori at)))

Greg made his way to one of the hotels and walked in the back door. He needed to get to the top of the building, and then he would have a good view of the gallows, and have a clean shot to break the rope if needed.

((I'll let u tell me where exatly the snipers, and other dudes are in this hotel, Rick))

((Holly is really Lily in disguise so only one girl was led out. She got outand had a friend of hers play her self so they can get outtta there))
Lily-Sunia(Fake Holly) looked at her brother in disgust and fingered her gun tenderly. If worse came to worse all of Buddy's renegade would have to take up a fight. The real Holly stood on the platform with Vic ready for the plan to begin.

Catori calls out in comanche low in a whisper. She asks Lily for help to get a room.

"Of course," winks the fake Holly and whisks with her to wherever they're going.
