Catori whimpered as she felt his touch. Her eyes squeezed shut. This couldn't be happening. Before she knew what was happening she felt the noose around her neck tighten. Her eyes shot opened and she started to cough slightly. Looking at the soldier, she wondered if she would live long enough to see Buddy again.
"I picked it up in Washington. Went there to find some work. Found some, but not what I thought I was gunna find." Matt walked into the store, and was shocked by the scene in front of him, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he yelled at the scorpions.
((Sorry Tela, gotta save Miss Sisco. Then you, promise!))

Just about then, the 'Scorpions' storm the town, shooting up the place, scattering and locking the town down. "Nobody enters or leaves without our knowing!" the Leader demands, and his fellow follower blue bandanna boys scatter throughout the town.A few of the Scorpions move to the jailhouse, while others lock down the hotel, saloon, mercantile and other local hot-spots, securing the stables and containing all modes of transportation out of town.
(leading up to SpikeSpeigel's scene...)
Leo had been sitting in his cell, as he had done for the two other days since he had been imprisoned. His hands were cuffed together, and his face was once more covered in stubble. He got up and walked to the cell bars. The sheriff was sitting in his chair writing some things down on a sheet of paper.
"Sheriff, could I please have a glass of water?" Leo asked.
The sheriff got up and grabbed a glass and filled it with what seemed like water, albeit a bit dirty. He then walked over to the cell. As he did, and as Leo reached out for the water someone slammed open the sheriff's doors and shot at the sheriff. Leo had the time to shove the sheriff out of the way and jump back. The bullet hit the cell door and it swung open. Before another shot could get out Leo had leaped from his cell and shoved the chains on his cuffed hands against the assassins throat, and him against the wall. The assassin soon fell down dead. Taking a quick look outside Leo saw more men.
"Quick uncuff me...and hand me my stuff." He pleaded with the sheriff who was just getting up.Sheriff Sanders stumbled toward Leo, fumbling for the keys to the handcuffs, as another series of gunshots rang out. Sanders collapsed, shot 3 times in the back, the keys falling from his grasp at Leo's feet.
altered from the original, since Spike's back now...
"Well, well... Leo the Lion... caged and tamed..." it was one of Wolf Raines' men, and he stood between Leo in the open jail cell and Leo's pistol and belt on the wall across the room. "You got but two choices, brother Raines: Join us, meet up with your brother up in Bucksville, or DIE!" the Scorpion had both his pistols trained on Leo, at deadly close-range.
((Obviously, Leo made a move, probably throttled the guy unmercifully or shot him with the Sheriff's gun, then followed the lead on his brother, and headed to Bucksville, after dragging the bandito bodies from the office to cover his tracks some...
Point is the Bucksville connection, it's a near-by civilized village of a town, much the same as New Hope..))
NEW STUFF:
Leo found a map of some sort of route from Abilene to Bucksville then to New Hope, then to the Army Fort further west, and at each of 3 points on the map there is an 'X' and a $$ marking 3 spots, a point between Abilene and Bucksville, a point between Bucksville and New Hope, and a point between New Hope and the Army Fort...
It doesn't make much sense, and Leo doesn't care to make it make sense; all he wants is to track down his brother and finish their face-off like men face to face instead of gunned down from the shadows. So, he rides out of town...
... and as he leaves, Leo rides past the newly constructed BANK building near the Cavendish Ent. Int. office, but he doesn't notice the plaque and sign on the front wall:
'Cavendish Reserve Bank--- GRAND OPENING! (4 days from this date) Waitin' on the $$ train...'
((OK, that was days ago, Leo's come back to town now and a few days have passed... the trick is now to connect everything up in time, solve the 'mystery' and stop the 'crime'...))
😱 💃 🙄 🤣
Buddy waves off the gathering crowd on the streets.
"Nothing to see here, folks... go on back to your homes or businesses..." he makes arrangements for another coffin and burial of another Scorpion with the coffin maker and undertaker.
The Cavendish scouting party returns about then, and Cavendish and Luis debark from the stage. "Perhaps it is good that the Army be here when the money train arrives from Bucksville tomorrow..." Cavendish changes his tune about the dreadful Army. "They will most likely escort the stagecoach convoy from here to the the fort further west, but at least, finally New Hope will have a proper bank after tomorrow..."

Little Ben Sisco was dragged back into the mercantile by the scruff of his neck. He had made it to the stables and was saddling up for the trip to Bucksville when the Scorpion banditos arrived and laid siege to the town. He made every effort to charge past the men as they rode into town, but he was followed and tackled and dragged back into town."We don' wanna hurt you little man..." the greasy bandit snarled in a strange accent. "We just need to hole up here a few days, do some business and den we be on our way..." he smiled, rotting, brown, broken teeth showing through chapped and cracked, brown busted lips.
The bandits scoured the shelves of the store, mumbling and talking to each other in Spanish a mile-a-minute, which Ben didn't understand. Dammit! If only there was a greasy wetback Mexican vaquero good guy in town who could translate... like that guy over to the business man's office the other day, Luis... he was greasy and Mexican enough to understand this language, for sure!!
Only then, Ben's Mother appeared and screamed at the men to get out of her home and store. But, they weren't leaving... in fact, the sight of the slight, youngish healthy-looking white woman gave the bandits all the more reason to hang around the place even longer!! They grabbed her and she fought them off, but there were too many of them.
"Leave her alone!" Benny cried, but the men shoved him away and locked him from his mother's bedroom...
Ben ran from the store in tears, wondering where to go, what to do next...
Just so Greg knows what's going on.
Matt's gun flew into his hand from his hip, and he covered the three men with it.
"What the hell are you doing?! Get off her!"
~ah and Greg's not around! 🙁 ~
Two of the 3 men make moves for their pistols, and the third, who was sprawled over Miss Sisco on the bed, with a knife to her throat, pulled her from the bed, standing behind her, knife still at her throat. He backed away slowly, toward the window, ducking behind his hostage shield.
"We don't want no trouble here..." the hidden bandit barked. "Just a little 'new customer appreciation' going on..."
"Yeh.. heh heh heh... appreciation..." a second grease-ball giggled, taking aim at the gunslingers in the doorway.
"Take 'em out boys!" the lead bandit demanded, shoving the woman forward and diving out the window as the gunfire ensued.
