I like those ideas, they cover the most important parts... it will probably be difficult to judge "importance" though, I think 😕So, if we work with 50 points... should each of the categories get 10 points? Or some more, some less? Any ideas for other added points, like "grammar/spelling/...", or is that all included in "overall impression"?
What about the deadline?

yeah, importance is indeed difficult, since it's kind of an opinion... but still it is important i think...maybe it should have something to do with how well the importance fits the story: because like someone said before, you can have an important character when he/she takes harry's place and kills voldy... it should be a little bit more subtle (sp, really don't know if that was the right word...) than that. hope you know what i mean...i think grammar/speeling should be with overall impression, since not eveyone is english it might be difficult to have it copletely grammaticly correct (yes, sp 😉 )
and can the deadline please be somewhere around christmas, or maybe even newyear cause i (and i think a lot of others) will be really busy the comming weeks...)

i think all that its alrigth, but the point of overall impresion, think there only has to have the autobiography of the character, cos if also they have to create a little story with the new character its going to be a lot of work! so, maybe with all that, at the final, it can create a mini story, like*character :
*description of the character :
*importance :
*overall impresion :
*sticking to the facts :
( and with all that, then a mini story ) *autobiography :
or so ?

so there would be the basics like. . .Name
Hair Color
Eye Color
Age
Female/Male
Descripition (sp?) (like the person is clever. . slow, quick tempered. . .maybe a little back story here)Then the mini story is . . maybe the part of the story where their importent? like leading harry to the place where he kill voldermort or something?

I don't think the eye colour per se should be too important laughing maybe just a general description of the appearence including hair & eye colour, but also whether they're rather small or tall or so... maybe some typical things like scars or any favourite things they often wear... whatever ^^
But the rest sounds v good ✅
Could somebody post what we have so far in the IHC-Thread?

I think the deadline around christmas was more or less accepted and as it's already nearly December probably the best 😬

Imo Orlisangels ideas for the judging are quite good... can we use them, maybe with a few small alterations?
(something like this maybe:
* description of the character (ie is it creative? are there many details? etc) : 10 pts
* originality of the character's role (ie isn't it too similar to somebody else's personality or role? would the char be significant for the wizard world?) : 15 pts
* accordance (ie is the author sticking to the facts? could this character possibly exist or is it rather absurd and contradicting the basic storyline of the books? does the char add something interesting to the main story?) : 10 pts
* mechanics (ie not too many typos, correct grammar, readable text etc) : 5 pts
* overall impression (selfexplaining ^^) : 10 pts

Total : 50 pts)

The presentation of the character - a short general description including name, gender, appearance, age at a specific time of the story (ie not just "15 years old" but for example "15 years at the time of James Potter's final year at hogwarts"😉, description of the char's personality (quiet? lively? quick-tempered? friendly? helpful? selfish? etc) and special characteristics (like "loves cats", "turns into a werewolf from time to time", "doesnt have any friends", "loves potions" - stuff like that, as long as it's significant for the story); plus a short text about the character, either in form of a biography or a real story about a certain time in the character's life?
By the way, I think most people still haven't really notice that the challenge was supposed to have begun already 😬 could one of the prefects post something about it in the IHCT?
