I'm ok Uni, thanks for asking 🙂 and yourself? How are your exams going? Answer me in our common room 😉
Right now I'm debating whether I should send the Hufflepuff's a PM each about the challenge but I don't know if they'll want to use Phoe's entry when they see it if she lets them so I think I'll just wait and see what people think first.
Whoa Rogue, slow down a second 🙂 I've just read all the House threads and in each one you've said the Ravenclaws don't have a challenge but they do. It's the Founders story and what Phoe posted was an entry but I don't think she realised that she needed to talk with her House members first or that it was for the wrong House 😖 - or maybe it she was just posting an example... But anyway, Ravenclaw have wanted the Founder's story for a while now and were just trying to finalise the details which are:
1) It's a creative fiction/fan fic about the founder of your House.
2) It has to include how they felt/thought about the process of founding Hogwarts e.g. how Slytherin's views affected them.
3) It should also include what type of person they were.
4) 4-6 paragraphs long
Those are all the pre'requisites^ and everything else is creative like events, which style you write it in e.g. first person or biographical etc
Now, it's true we don't know too much about the founders that is why it's creative but we do have to stick with what do know of them and their characters which means nothing too far fetched e.g. Rowena Ravenclaw can't prefer tigers over ravens/eagles lol or Helga Hufflepuff probably wont be really loud and demanding, Salazar Slytherin wont be nice towards muggles and Godric Gryffindor probably wont be scared of rising to a challenge.
In regards to the Scoring system and Deadline, those are still being worked out but until then we can get cracking on the entries 😉
I never realised paragraphs had to be a certain length, I thought it purely about subject matter 😕
But my point was, with the fact that these are going to be short stories to use a quote as a whole paragraph might seem as if its not that much of your own work? Do you see what I mean? I mean using quotes shoudl be fine, just as long as they aren't substantial parts of the story because then it's kind of like just taking parts out of the book and going around them... but hey it's upto the Ravenclaw prefects 🙂
