Hi all.
To begin with, there are going to be a few minor changes around here. First off, we're going to get more organized. On that note, no more unnecessary comments in this thread. Our social thread is the Sorting Hat, so if you want to congratulate the Slytherin's, or anyone else, do it there.
If Tassie were here, I belive she would get all on me becuz I've been pretty much letting anything go in this thread, but not anymore. If you have questions about the new challenge, or the one we've just got done with, by all means, feel free to post in this thread.

And please, dont' let this thread get to Page 2. If you see it heading there, a simple, "Bumping." or "Oops, almost of page 2" in your post would be great.

Also, I think for this new challenge, we need to have a really good due date that would be appropiate for whatever we do. For example, if it's something that takes 2 weeks, we need to stick by it. With school starting back up, I know how that can be, but I think if we all promise to to at least visit this thread, 2 or 3 times a week, that would be great.

Plus, I had an idea about how we should judge from now. What if we had all the houses more involved in the judging. So say, Huffelpuff, whose judging the other 3 houses. We should have everyone in that house judge, and send their scores to the Head Judge, who has the final say in the scores. The Prefects of each house could elect the Head Judge, someone who they feel is really fair and such. That way, more people in each house would be involved in the judging and the scores would truly come from everyone from that house. Plus, I think we should have more time to judge the challenges so that we get the right scores.

What do you all think? I need your input. I've talked to a few people and most of them said the same thing. Timing and organization will reduce confusion and are key notes for our Challenges.

so everyone, besides the head judge, would judge the challenge, then the head judge would pick the one they thought was the most far?

Yeah, something like that. You know how we ususally have categoreis. Say the Head Judge thinks the the Creativity Score was too low. Then they could change it, upping it a point or two.

They dont' necessary pick someone's score who they liked. It's more of a category by category thing. If the majority of people gave a House a 6 on Spelling, and the Head Judge thought it was too high, then they would talk to thier house and maybe change it to a 5 or 4.

The point of this is so that we take more time on the scoring. Makes sense???

yea

i like that idea rogue. it will definately get more people involved. but say many members are inactive...can the head judge just say "scores to me by X date or they dont count?" i mean you cant wait forever for everyone to file in scoring. it would be nice though if everyone did 🙂

truly... the judging part will not work 😬 .... the averages would be a mixed bag due to inactivity in certain houses.... it would be unfair to have 5 judge one and the averaged compared to another house with only two judges averaged.... i would love for it to work but it wont 😬 plus many of the members could simply not judge for some reason or another and that will have massive impact on the results... 😬

well i mean technically it COULD work...but i mean you'd probably have to say "alright scores in by tuesday (KMC TIME) or they dont count" and encourage for feedback. RTO we have many active members in our house...i dont know if it would be a problem

Hufflepuff has only 2 right now . it would not be fair to them. Same to ravenclaw. Griffendor and slytherin are the only two houses with somewhat equal numbers

Great idea Rogue, a head judge...

Maybe it would be better if not everyone judged, b/c of the fact that it is impossible. Maybe the prefects could PM 3-5 people in their house per task and ask them to judge. At least three should be able to do it, and if 5 can, great. The head judge would still be in effect though, to oversee the judging. What do you guys think?

do any of the houses have even 5 active willing members to judge? its hard to get some to answer PMs

i like tracy's idea, and i mean the head judge can choose x(we'll get the number settled) amount of members (at random...no bias) and email them about it.

Just a suggesttion to hufflepuff and ravenclaw...you might want to get your list of members and send a friendly little PM to them. YOu get PM alerts sent to you via email, and mayube some of them will be more active once they remembered. just an idea. thats what i did for slytherin when our numbers went down 🙂

✅ we should all first worry about reactivating lost members rather then new scoring techniques. The true problem lies there.

maybe ill just PM everyone in every common room...might be easier...

😄 give me a house and i will help you 😄

Agreed tracy. That would work. The prefects can select 3-5 people in there house. I like it.

RTO, this could work, as LadySlytherin has pointed out. The point isn't so that all scores would be averaged or whatever. It's just that you would have 3-5 different people judging all 3 houses and they could communicate between each other on what scores to give each category.

There is nothing averaged. This way, we'll have more people involved in the judging. Plus, the amount of member a house has, has nothing to do with this. SO I don't know how we can talk about fairness or whatever.

I've said it tons of time, but if you're in a house and you dont' see that many members, drop them an e-mail or PM. but I dont' see how the amount of members have anything to do with the judging.

Thanks tracey and LadySlytherin. I agree with both of you.
