I felt the same. Hodge's death didnt really have an impact. Seeing as how theres only 3 episodes left, I think that his assasination angle will carry to next season. The previews for next week look awesome. I wonder if they'll show the last 2 on the same night. hope so.
I expect to see a two season finale

Which is why so awesome seeing Jack ripping her a new ass a couple of episodes ago.
Some spoilers (very vague):

Ausiello: Can't help you with the finale. Can help you with Monday's penultimate ep, which finds Jack Bauer going all Jack Bauer on Tony. It's a brutal scene, so if extreme violence isn't your thing, run for cover right around the halfway point. Just make sure you come back in time to catch Chloe and Janis' hilarious sneer-off.Question: 24 scoop, please? --Jacob
Ausiello: I actually do have something about the finale: Kim will play a major part in it. And you'll find out why next week.

Jack already saved the day, now he has to save his daughter.
I honestly can not believe they went there. After all the ridiculousness they have put Kim threw in the past to now go back and dig up an old (and tired) plot device to the be the climax of the day... I am very disappointed.

Technically she wasnt captured. I read somewhere that the writer/producer agreed not to have Kim as a hostage again. Seeing as how it all happened in the last 2 hours, im guessing (hoping) she'll figure things out rather quick and do something to get away from them.

thats what i've been thinking as well
I wasnt too thrilled by the finale. It wasnt bad by any means, I just wanted more. I'm glad Kim didnt get captured and was somewhat useful because of her brief CTU background. I have mixed feelings about Tony's motivations. Im glad they didnt kill him. I knew the Prez was gonna make the right decision. I know I probably couldnt. I wonder if the pathogen will still be in Jack's system next season. I think Reene's cliffhanger was just her beating the crap about the big bad to get information. Next season is probably gonna be against all the conspirators in the background.
So glad that Almeida wasn't killed off.
One thing I didn't like was that Almeida was supposed to be experienced in this sort of stuff, however he left Jack unguarded with the few surgeons. That was a real rookie mistake, and even worse considering he has a history with Jack, he should've known what Jack is capable of.
These kind of mistakes also go back a few episodes. The reason Jack was able to intercept Tony and the bomb was because they tracked a call made by one of his operatives taken into custody. However, Tony should've devised duress codes and that would have never happened.
Ok, one thing I liked, and this goes back several episodes again, occurred before Jack discovered Tony was bad. When Tony saw Jack unexpectedly turned up to the site Larry Moss was killed, he had this look of "oh shit", lol. Thats just a testament to how good he thinks Jack is. Give Jack enough time and he'll figure your shit out.
Anyway back to the current situation...
Anyone think they'll kill off Kim because of the operation next season? It'll definitely leave Bauer a more haunted man, and that's what they've always went for.
The few previous seasons I disliked Kim, but this time they brought her back into my good books, so I hope they keep her.
