Seeing as in this is my last day on KMC, I will say only this and hope it is taken to heart by all those who read it. It rings true for more then just the Spider-Man movies.

Hating a comic book, or even just book, based movie because it does not hold 100% true to the original telling of said story is dumb. Look at the LOTR movies. Those who have read the books first noticed a lot of changes, but I still liked the movies. They cannot stay 100% true to the comics for Spider-Man, or the first movie would have been an 8-part movie.

I agree with you a little, there was some unnecessary changes made. I, for one, hated that Spider-Man had organic webbing. Web Cartrages was one of his weaknesses. Just look at the 1990's cartoon.

"Oh, no. Out of webbing! No captured bad guys?!"

And look at X-2... where was Collosus (sorry about spelling, I am typing a little quick.) accent? He isn't Russian anymore? But, it is the little details like the aforementioned that allow us to nit-pick, which can be fun.

However, speaking as a Spider-Man fan from birth, you cannot speak on behalf of everyone that is a Spider-Man fan, because I did like the first movie. I thought it was the best it could have been.

Also, if you disagree with me, I probably wont care because this is my last day at KMC, pending Vampiree lets me leave.

Thats just it though. Never have I ever said I hated the movie because it was not exactly like the comics.I enjoyed Daredevil immensely even though it could have been better because even though it had some changes in it like Bullseyes costume being different than the comics, the kingpin being black instead of white, those were reasonable changes that were not just plain stupid and pointless. organics and goblin costume-man that goblin suit was a total joke, people laughed at how stupid looking he was -and these were non fans, screwing up MJ'S character making her into gwen stacy instead of MJ,plain stupid changes that were totally uncalled for.as I have said before,if you want to see a movie that was wriiten mostly for kids, watch the manspider movie, you want to see a quality comicbook film made for an adult with reasonable changes, watch daredevil.

what do u guys mean by organics???

Once again, sony is changing the characters and betraying the spirit from the comics, not was only enough with a freak peter parker with organics webs, a spider man not funny, a mary jane as with gwen stacey personality, a power ranger green goblin , and awful script and stupid movie. In man spider 2 we get peter parker again with glasses even in high school, loosing his powers only for felling guilty, spidey not funny again, mary jane with blonde hair and even more a clone of gwen stacey and destroying totally doctor octopus character. He will be a nice person only evil for a chip and controlled by his tentacles with cameras in it, knowed only by his nick name doc ock in stead of the full name doctor octopus, and not myopic at all and not graduated glasses, only googles to work and sun glasses after the accident because his damaged eyes. For not mention his matrix look with those fashioned glasses. It is totally stupid. Once again sony is doing it, they destroy spider man making of him man spider in the first crap movie and they will do the same in man spider 2 . But the true spider man fans wont never acept those man spider movies. And at least, we can said our thougths and opinions and points of view here, not as in that nazi site called superhero hype, where the moderators are fascists and dont let the free speech, banning the people who post something negative about those movies.

QUIT YOUR WHINING! ITS SPIDER-MAN NOT MAN-SPIDER! THATS A SHIT NAME, AND WHY EVEN COME IN THE SPIDER-MAN FORUM IF YOUR JUST GONNA BASH IT!!!!!!!??????? THEY DO MAKE THE CHANGES TO KEEP THE CHARACTERS FREASH, I LOVED THE SPIDER-MAN MOVIE AND SO DID MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, THATS WHY IT WAS SUCH A HIT AT THE BOX OFFICE, YOUR TOTALLY PATHETIC, EVERY TIME I COME IN THIS FORUM YOUR ALWAYS CRYING OVER SOMETHING, GROW UP, QUIT YOUR CRYING AND BE A MAN!!! 😠

And the reason they made M J more like Gwen Stacey was because Sam and Kirsten wanted M J to be a hero for woman, powerful and strong, and shows she can look after herself, that shes a fisty tough girl. Thats why.

Mr. Parker, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN STUPID TO MAKE THE WEB SHOOTERS!! Let me ask you a few questions; would you prefer organic webs or web shooters that appeared from nowhere and had no reasoning behind them; how would you have changed the Goblin costume; why are you pissed about Mary Jane? Gwen wasn't even the first girl Parker was interested in.

I agree, your just, well let me make it simple so i dont keep writing beacuse that would just get way to boring so i am going to cut the crap and skip to the end, just like Hellboy said "skip to the end how do i kill it". I did not like the Hellboy movie but i am not saying anything bad about the movie, i just simply dont like it, but anyway i have been talking way to much so i am going to just say what i came here to say and leave. So here goes nothing, I agree. That wasnt that bad.

Oh by the way, if y'all are thinkin I was dissing the movies, you're wrong. I was just worried about how Dock Ock's "evilness" in this next one.

Even though I like the movies, I will have to admit Mr Parker et al have a point. I honestly cringed when I saw the Green Goblin costume - especially when I saw a MUCH better rubber-mask concept version going around that looked like a perfect adaptation of the purple/green costume from the comic. His pumpkin bombs weren't even pumpkin bombs. I was getting a bit worried I have to admit.

There's no need to flame anyone on the fact that they liked or didn't like a movie and are expressing their reasoning behind it. Calling it Man-Spider all the time is a little childish, but I totally understand how the haters feel.

There were parts of the movie that were done really well (the whole storyline of the GG pre-death condensed perfectly into a single movie, Jonah Jameson, capturing Spiderman in action really well), and there were areas that the film really lost it (Green Goblins costume and weaponry, organic webbing, MJ wasn't MJ at all).

I think people need to face up to reality here, the movie wasn't all great, and it wasn't all bad. There ARE bits of the movie that changed the comic book ideal for no good reason at all.

And for those who think that the Green Goblins costume is just an "aesthetic" complaint - no it isn't. That costume was not functional at all for the role it required. Green Goblin is supposed to frown, smile, laugh, grin etc, because he was insane and went from happy to angry very quickly. The movie costume could not convey this. This is why I never understood why they ditched the rubber mask concept version. People say the GG movie version was realistic - well Norman was insane, making a silly Goblin costume is something you'd expect from an insane villain - he made a goofy Goblin helmet after all.

said like a true spider-man fan, kinda.

i think red superfly should get out of this forum and any1 else who has anybad remarks about spiderman

Are you retarded?

Spider-Venom, this is a MOVIE FORUM, YOU DISCUSS MOVIES. Jesus Christ, if we want to talk bad about the movie we can...

And you're not a true fan if you see the movie and get into Spider-Man that's BS.

Second off Red Superfly, you're 100% correct..the costume was a joke. I think that they should've done like Peter JAckson did with Gollum..it would've worked perfectly.

And to be honest, when I first watched the movie I was like "Wow that's great.." then I got it on DVD and you realize how untrue it is and how it's only a O'Kay, maybe less then mediocre film.

I agree with Mr. Parker on many levels..but I still like the film, just not a lot.

2) I've read almost all the LOTR books, and loved the movies, so I'm not one to pick at shit, and be like "THAT'S CRAP."

thats even better, this is a true spider-man fan.

and folks it does not matter if your black or white or if you started liking spider-man from the movie or from the comics, all that really matters is that you like spider-man, and then your a fan. in fact i started liking spider-man from the movie and now i buy ever spider-man comic i can get my greddy little hands on.

Ok, you are an idiot, plain and simple.

Just because I said a FEW bad things about the film doesn't mean I don't like it at all. I loved the film. I'm prepped for the second one too. Had you actually read my post you would understand that I was trying to be neutral.

In fact I will stay neutral on the subject because I do NOT want to be classed as fanboy such as yourself, it's too degrading. The fact that you are called Spider Venom and have that moronic signature reveals your fanboyishness. Think outside the box genius!

I'm a huge fan of Spiderman, but I can see when something has been adapted wrong or just out of laziness or ignorance (and I think the Goblin costume was designed out of ignornace of the comic character - if they knew anything about the character they would have designed a MOVING FACE).

How can anyone who likes Spiderman (and has READ the comic as opposed to just look at "teh cool pict0rz!"😉 say that the Goblin was recreated faithfully in the movie - very few can not. If it weren't for the performance of Willem Dafoe that character could have been completely butchered.

Also, for the record, those people who get into Spiderman because of the movie are idiots - WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? If you are five years old fair enough.

IDIOTS EVERYWHERE!

hey red superfly why dont you shout up, freakin basterd. i'm just as good a fan as any of you morans, and i started liking spider-man from the movie. so there ant nothing wrong with that ok.

Everybody must calm down now, or else i will report this thread. Behave like well-mannered people.

Trust the morons to ruin a halfway decent discussion 🙄

Who are you? Didn't say anything to you did I? Not only can you not type, spell, or bathe properly, you obviously can not read. And that comment about liking Spiderman after the movie was a joke, that's why I said "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG". It seems as though nothing can be seen as a joke unless it has "lol", or "ROFLMAO!!!111!!1", or "LMFAO" attached to the end.

Now will somebody please bring this back into a discussion? I'm tired of the flaming fanboy infestation.

Again, I'm losing this battle against ignorance - can I talk to someone sane?

Superfly, I agree, and I am sane and mature, hehe.

The 1st Spider-Man was a let down..I didn't hate it..but like I said I didn't love it.

The Goblin costume was HORRIBLE, and they kinda' did a DECENT job on Ock with the Tentacles. On the other hand, Spider-Venom sent me a "threatening PM" last night over the internet. Ha.

And finally someone agree's on the whole Spider-Man movie fan thing..yeahh.

Yay!

Even though they did a foolish job on the Goblin costume - I have to admit when I first saw Dock Ock I was like: "Wow!". They've done a bang up job on Ock, he looks brilliant.

Hear that? I said Dock Ock looks brilliant in Spiderman 2! I cannot wait for Spiderman 2. I'm a huge Ock fan, that's why I started replying to this thread in the first place, although certain people make me wonder why I even bothered. You show'em enlightenment, they spit in your face, I'd expect no less from the product of our brat culture.

Fanboy # 1773: "OMG Dude he jsut said something bad about Spdierman, then said something GOOD about the new movie at the same time! Can it be done? Can it? Can poeple reely like bits of a m0vie and also not like other bits of a m0vie? Brain.....can't....handle.....need.....to......flame.........fanboy smash!........"

Jeez, people calm down. I've been a spidey fan since the 90's animated series when I was about 10 and I like the way the movie created more fans, but at the same time I don't like the way its created fans who don't know the whole story and seem keen to argue that the movie is god.

1) Its not
2) The 90's animated series was still not
3) Nothing is, every incarnation is different.

I've recently been watching the MTV series, which follows on from the first film, so it keeps the organic webbing. Its odd, I thought I would hate it, but it was actually really good, the organic webbing didn't annoy me nearly as much as I thought it would. It shows a good film/series can overcome slight out of canon moments. Though I don't like the Goblins suit in the first film, does it make sense as military armour, yes it does. Was it everything it could have been, no it wasn't.

Spider-Man 2, the whole Doc Ock turning bad via chip, I don't remember that from anything, I remember him just turning mad, maybe as a result of the massive shock of waking up with tentacles on his spine. Not a normal occurence. I remember him having a relationship with Aunt May, can't see that coming up as the age difference looks too much in the film.

I'm sure we'll all enjoy the second film. Lets just wait and see.

hey red superfly i was just pissed at you saying people who started liking spider-man from the movie are not real fans, ok, now calm down, thats better.
