1st scan - Cyke literally BFR'ed the Sentinel...

* if it's not, then Cyke is really holding back... remember Cyke's duel with Storm for X-men's leadership? Cyke's capable of lowering the intensity of his blasts through his visor (he stated on-panel before the duel that he will switch his visor so that his blasts would be at its lowest intensity)...
* both can one-shot each other, in my opinion... but i think, the writers wanted to portray is that they just want to hurt each other, to release this certain tension between them over the years... they don't want to kill each other, they just want to kick each other's a$ses... sadly, the involvement of their mutant powers will only display poor showings of both characters...
* the examples of poor showings are:
- the power/intensity of Cyke's optic blasts - sure, it was shown on-panel that Logan is tanking the blast, but is that acceptable? the blast itself which was capable of BFR'ing the huge Sentinel just a while ago? i doubt it... an accurately-placed blast can one-shot or BFR Logan, anytime...
- Logan's superhuman strength, agility, reflexes and fighting ability - although it was stated that Cyke holds black belts in judo and aikido, Logan's superhuman abilities were undermined... an accurately-placed punch or kick from Logan can also one-shot or KO Cyclops...
* regarding the schism: i believe the young mutants can successfully defend Utopia...
- Gabriel, a time-manipulator can greatly help...
- Idie, a thermo-kinetic, can severely damage the Sentinel...
- Teon has feral powers, enhanced strength, speed, stamina, agility and reflexes...
- Kenji can create biological matter and ferrous material telekinetically... he can simply create another big Sentinel to fight the enemy...
- Laurie has flight and speed...
- and to top it all, Hope - an omega-level with empathic power mimicry? she can, without a doubt, defeat the Sentinel single-handedly... with all these mutant powers around her she can mimic, she'll just simply solo the fight...
* in this scenario, i think Cyclops' decision to stand and fight is correct... Logan is exaggerating his father figure by pampering these kids... while in fact, most of the X-men started off in an early age...

He didn't bfr the Sentinel, he barely even knocked it back. It's in the exact same place it was prior to the blast. What happened is that the blast created a smoke screen which allowed for the potential that the Sentinel was destroyed, only the way the panels are layed out it isn't very dramatic when it comes through the smoke.
I think that Sentinel is supposed to be like the Wild Sentinel the X-Men fought on Genosha, only with self regen and some technopathic abilities. If that is the case Gen Hope doesn't stand a chance.

* the kids lack training and experience, yes... but with Cyclops being their field commander, they can win... and from what i read in other thread, they really did beat that Sentinel...
* Cyclops was right... and Logan was leaving the team, can't even admit he's wrong... Logan has a point, but in the situation the X-men are in right now, his point is actually pointless...
Wolverine's bones aren't going to have a hard time dealing with the optic blast. Cyclops will have to come up with a plan to beat Wolverine using tactics. Maybe he could blast a hole and fill it with water and drown Wolverine by applying a low pressure beam that keeps him under water.
I still give the fight to Wolverine with 9/10 snicks.
