The problem with the "Enemy of the State" storyline is that it is indicative of the bastardization of Wolverine that has increased proportionally to his popularity. The greater the popularity has become then the more ridiculous and poorly thought out storylines he has been put through. Anyone who has sat through high school physics would be able to tell how a fight between Wolverine and the Hulk (or any other powerhouse) would end: the Hulk standing in the same spot and Wolverine four states over. He used to be a tough little runt who would nearly get killed in fights but pull through in the end. He was a mortal and would actually lose fights where he was out matched, but that is what made him so interesting.

Becoming popular was the worst thing that ever happened to Wolverine.

The bad writing that Namor was treated with in the series IS part of teh reasons why I hate it. Not only reason.

I think this "behind the scenes" thing shows pretty well what was wrong in that comic...

- Namor doesn't even attempt to dodge any of Wolverine's slashes, even when he certainly has the speed to do so.
- Namor seems to shout in pain when Wolverine slashes him, even though he has endured far worse pain before.
- Namor simply hovers in place and talks peacefully to Wolverine after this has murdered his advisor. (Doom once slapped a woman who Namor thought was his mother and got thrown through his own battleship and knocked out in few seconds...what do you think would REALISTICALLY happen to Wolverine when Namor sees him murder his advisor.

Piss-poor writing. This must be the 10th time I've proven this. Sadly, it seems that the senses of Wolverine-fanboys are often clouded by multiple overdoses of psychoactive drugs.
