What's wrong with singing about political stuff? Better than talking about how you're "breaking the habit tonight". What the hell is that supposed to mean? If you're going to write a cliched song, you might as well write it about something that people can relate to. What habit is Chester breaking? He never says in the song. Is he quitting smoking? Is he promising to spend less time on the internet or TV? Is he promising to stop making terrible music? I don't get it. See, the thing is... We NEED bands like RATM. Society needs bands like that, that wake people up and make them realize that all is not well.

First of all... If he has good range, then why does he stay within a single octave in all of his songs? From what I have heard in his songs, Chester has terrible range. Go listen to some of Maynard J Keenan's stuff and THEN tell me Chester Bennington has good range.

I own Meteora because I honestly used to like LP. Back before I stopped to listen to them, and realized how little talent they actually had.

Second, last time I checked, Zack de la Rocha wasn't dead. I could be wrong. But if he is, what does that have to do with them being a good band? Sure, RATM is no more... But neither is Nirvana, neither is Led Zeppelin, neither are the Beatles, and a ton of other undeniably great bands. They have practically no fans? uhh reality check ratm does have a good fan base. And even if they didn't, what would that have to do with them being a good band? Nothing.

RATM doesn't use swear words in their songs to fill space. They use them to get their point across. If you say, "F*ck it, cut the cord," it's a stronger statement than, "Dern it, cut the cord." And who gives a shit if they do swear? I swear all the time...

Ok Haggis I did a little research on the internet. Zack de la Rocha isn't dead. I found three biographies, none of them said anything about him being dead. 😊

revan just because they both do sampling doesnt mean they are both out there on stage on turntables you dick. b) I know quite a few people who disagree with RATM's political message, but still like the band. Even if you do disagree with it, I don't see how you can reasonably deny that the guy is a lyrical genius
c) At least they think about their lyrics, rather than applying the same cookie-cutter formula to every single song. I've noticed something recently about LP, which is that every song is about one of two or three different topics. The only difference in the lyrics is that they call whatever problem they're talking about a different thing. Sometimes Chester screams poorly about how he's "numb", other times he sings poorly about how he's breaking some habit. What habit is he breaking? Is he trying to stop smoking? Masturbating? Having daydreams about f*cking Zack de la Rocha?
d) Calling a band gay, when nothing they do has anything to do with actually being gay, doesn't prove whatever point you're trying to make any more strongly. Especially when you're typing so fast that you forget to hit the "a" key. 😊

RATM are actually very talented. Tom Morello has more talent in his little finger than LP's guitarist has at all. Same with Zack de la Rocha (drool), I still don't see how you are denying that he knows what he's doing lyrically. And tell me, which RATM song does "thatguys" (drool) scream in? He never screams. If you want to hear some good screaming, listen to Jon Davis, or Maynard J Keenan, or even freaking Marilyn Manson... 😊
