I'm sure they would make the Venom have the elongated jaw--and I don't think it would be too difficult to make it look good. Rendering his teeth and tongue may be much tougher. I think they'll be a very crucial element in Venom's "shock value". Millions of Americans and millions more worldwide will be getting their first dose of Venom.
When people look at my toy collection, and they see my Venom figures, their reactions are nearly all the same. Their eyes widen, their heads lurch back just a bit. It's a reflex. He scares people.
I want to see teeth--and plenty of them...I want to see drool, and a tongue with a mind and a life of it's own. I want him to pant and seethe, and growl just the Venom I know and love. Teeth, tendrils and tongue. Those are gonna be key.
If venom was animated today in Spiderman 3 he would be totally awesome, theirs no question in my mind. With the level of computer animation we've all seen in the last couple of years with all the bad ass action flicks we've seen. Venom would defintily be amazing! As kick ass of movies that we've developed I'am anxious to see him in with Spiderman on the big screen!
Copy that. Couldn't agree more, by the time they actually get around to beginning to render and add effects, the technology will be even more advanced. I just pray that they don't put some idiot like Sly Stallone in the role of Eddie Brock. FX or no FX, that guy would ruin a beautiful character, period. I'd take either the Rock OR Vin Diesel in his place, though I'm lukewarm to those guys, too. The Rock's physical dimensions are just right, though.
He was a totally awesome Sabretooth. I've sait it before, and I'll say it again, I hope like hell they find a good "nobody" to play this role, 'cuz there's nobody famous that's right for the part.
Arachnoidfreak--I did see a couple of his movies--and I've gotta say he is the best professional wrestler-turned-actor that I've seen, but that's not saying much, as the talent pool is VERY shallow. Most of the women I know, however would argue with me, because even though his acting is weak, he looks good doing it. Even I can't say that he's unattractive.
OK point taken...however, there are those who think that sylvester stallone is a GREAT actor--many people in that biz receive accolades that are completely unmerited. A few people have told me that it is narrow-minded of me never to have watched any "Rocky" or "Rambo" movies simply because I think Stallone has the wit and talent of a box of rocks. But, personally I'd rather watch paint dry...
I don't think it matters all that much about physique because all of his moves/combos/attacks will have to be enhanced by CGI. Venom is supposed to be faster than Spiderman...and someone like the Rock isn't agile enough.
Basically you need someone as Brock, and that's about it. Like Andy Serkin (sp?) the guy who played Gollum. All they need is someone with the right moves, and the technology will make up the rest.
And the Rock IS NOT the best pro wrestler turned actor...it was clearly the Hulkster in Suburban Commando and No Holds Barred. Hulkamania rules Brotha!
ok i think we would all agree that for an actor to play venom he would have to be a big dude...but what big dudes can act?...u guys already mentioned the rock and vin diesel thats about it.......why dont that try and give that dude who played colossus in X2....i'm sure he would like to have more that 2 minutes of film time and he looked perferct for the part
u know they did that on purpose...they were like what would be the biggest baddest villian? i got it...an alien/parasite like villian with big ass teeth, a 20 inch tounge, swamp like drool, reflexes and strenghts greater than spidey....nope..wait...he just aint bad enough....i know we'll give his alter ego a mullet.....holy shit! now thats a villian!
