Ok, Jelena is three frames ahead of her foe for her first strike... he dodges, she rolls -1, a miss.
Now she is two frames ahead, and Strikes again. He dodges again, and she rolls +2... still a miss!
And it happens a third time, where an evens is a miss, and then last of all Jelena strikes with player privilege for a fourth attack, this time rolling a +5, for a 17 and finally getting a solid hit in! After an impressive series of blows with the Zeraphrain going back and back and back and back... a final blow comes, and everything in the room seems to stand still for a moment... and the final Zeraphrain falls dead.
There is a little bit for Gundy to tail off this plotline for her here, but we can replay that quickly in flashback for her, should she ever get here.
Things are pretty chaotic all around, but you guys have to accept that this is all part of your job, and get the Viceroy onto the Courthouse, which is after all why you were here in the first place.
Of course, by the time you have extriacted the Viceroy from the car, and made a report for the relevant authorities, and apoligsed to the Viceroy for creasing his clothing, and had him showered and cleaned up and re-dressed, and the bodies of the assassins moved on and the crime scene sealed off and sufficent resources allocated to get the Viceroy TO the Courthouse...
... you are two hours late by the time you get there. Everyone else is already seated; Judge Xian-Tai Tek eyes you disapprovingly as you come in.
"I see certain elements have been trying to delay proceedings; I must repeat the Court's displeasure at such events. And now, to the business of the day. Are you ready, Viceroy?"
"What? What? yes, I am, your Honour, please proceed with this ceremony. We shall see if it is possible to make any progress in this assinine place today..."
"Very well. That being the case, this Court will now proceed to its verdict on the matter at hand..."
At this point, Nebb interjects via his interpreter droid
"Your Honour, I do not believe that is correct. We cannot possibly move onto the decision of this court until all the matters at hand have been discussed. We have not even begun the business of the day."
"Thankyou, Senator Nebb, I am aware of the legal proceedings that are pertinent. The Court proceeds to its decision once all appropiate submisisons have been completed."
"But surely is it not self-evident that such proceedings are not complete? The Republican representative has made his, but the submission from the subject of this hearing has not even begun."
"On the contrary, Senator Nebb, I distributed to everyone this morning, including yourself, a sworn submisison from the Viceroy, as detailed to the Jedi, laying out his version of events pertinent to the case at hand."
"But that is not the conclusion of the matter. I have many points I wish to discuss with the Viceroy and the Court to make sure that the people her epresent all fully understand the ramifications of..."
"Yes yes yes, Senator, but I am afraid the time for that has passed. No further questions can be asked once the submission has concluded."
"But the submission has not concluded. It has not even begun."
"I am afraid this is not so, Senator. The guidelines clearly state that if no queries have been rasied in a period of an hour after the end of a submission, then that submission is considered closed."
"But as I said! it has not begun yet!
"It begun the moment I opened the court session this morning, in absentia ofg the Viceroy, his deposition in lieu of his actual presence. You should have made any questions you wanted to make at the time."
"He was not even here!"
"Then your questions should have been left and answered when the Viceroy was able to attend. No further matters can be raised concerning this matter."
"But..."
"You have a point to make, Senator Nebb?" says Tek, with a gleam of triumph in his eyes. Nebb looks downcast and sits down.
"No, your honour..."
"Very well! Then the court may proceed."
There is loud laughter from the Viceroy.
"Hah! See how you like that, you semi-evolved reptile! Your intolerable intereference is at an end!"
"It is the decision of this court that the Viceory is fit to stand for trial on the charges that have been brought against him. Date of the trial to be determined at a later date. These proceedings are at an end."
There is a certain amount of noise as people rise and comment.
"What?" says the Viceroy. "NO! This is outRAGEOUS! I have been tricked? What sort of idiocy is this?"
Well, there ends the trial. Just a few things to be tied up now, before we move on to the next episode. You are assembling for one last time outside the Courthouse, to escort the Viceroy back, and as before, people are assembling as they prepare to leave. Nebb, again, leaves quickly and quietly, but Riordan's delegation is stopping to socialise as ever.
"I understand that Kellan has been quite ill, Master Clarion," comes a voice from behind you, Clarion. It is Ascar, who got disturbingly close to you without you sensing his approach. "Seems you are having to take her shoes for now. It takes a brave person to take on that fate."
"Ahhh... " says Ascar. "Odd fellow, Nebb. Top line degree in law from Coruscant. Political expert in all areas of the Republic. Youngest Lamellan Senator in centuries. But so obtuse to be with! I read all about how he stalled Marcus back on Tartarus two years back. Such a pain! That the Lamellan authorities sent Nebb to help Marcus, but 'accidentally' omitted to send the protocol droid that Marcus would need to understand him. He pulled the same trick again on the first day of the trial, turning up without a protocol droid, so the start had to be delayed until they fetched one. Tricky little being, isn't he?"
~Need to review something~
Vlad put the pilot controls on self manual, and then turned his chair to look at Marcus "So, Master Marcus, what do you think? I hope the others had better luck then us... Maybe then we can figure atleast something out? But I still have a feeling we will need to talk to the Techno-Union VP..." said Vlad.
