Ascar laughs.

"Six Jedi- Padawans, Knights and Masters? If the Chancellor himself were in danger he would only get two. This is a little more than a precaution, Gundark. And I know you are taking it seriously and you do not think this is a waste of your time.

"That being the case, should you not be as prepared as possible?"

The docking transfer doors open, letting in a cold blast of air from inside the ship.

(I'd prefer if Densk was with Christof and I, seeing as Xeth and he are friends...)

Xeth steps out of his ship and into the helpless ship. He is dressed like a trader just to be sure that no one suspects he is a Jedi, just in case.

"Densk, Christof, keep close," Xeth says, moving down the corridor. He starts searching for any passengers. He takes out his comlink. "Roan, I'll contact you if difficulties arise."

He starts looking for passengers on the ship. "Hello? We're here to jump start your ship?"

It's rather cramped in here, a narrow corridor. There is someone at the far end, though, dressed in generic clothing.

"You're here to help?" he says. "Identify yourself."

"Xeth, and yourself? We were passing by and heard the distress signal..."

"This area is not safe. What is your ship, your position on it and your reason for being here?"

(Be cautious about this one, remember how uncertain we were feeling? He already seems to be snapping at us, rather than thankful for rescue...)

Xeth restrained himself from raising an eyebrow, and thought of an excuse.

"Not safe? How so?" he asks, playing dumb on that situation.

"My ship is that freighter," he says, pointing out of a viewport, "accompanied by the modified starfighter that I've docked with the ship. We are carrying supplies to Naadal."

(Naadal is a planet that Rex made for his Galder story, it's always in Civil War, North versus South, usually over land or assassinations. Lots of mercenaries involved in combat, not too many actual Naadalians...just to give it some background info...)

"What kind of traders reduce their margins by loading a starfighter on their vessel? The same sort of traders that pretend to have no idea of the piracy problem around here, hmm?"

"Oh, the piracy! Ah, I don't worry 'bout pirates," Xeth says. "I've gotten out of many scrapes with pirates before."

"As for the fighter, it's mine, I'll do as I please with it..."

Xeth pauses for a bit.

"Now, for the ship jumpstarting, you DID send out the distress signal, after all..."

"Yeah, when I am sure you are legit. And like I say, stuffing a fighter inside your ship wipes your profit margins- that's why traders don't do it.

So try me again."

Xeth now raises an eyebrow.

"Legit? What, is this an interrogation?"

(Any rolls I can make to make it seem like I know what I am doing?)

Unfortunately, it seems Persuasion is not your strong point, Xeth. You can Intimidate but that doesn't quite fit.

"Since if you're not legit you're going to kill all of us, then yes, I feel entitled to get some answers before allowing you in to the others."

"Kill you all? I have no intentions in killing anyone."

"Who are you anyway? What's THIS ship?"

"Well, unless you can explain who you really are, I am not invlined to believe you. We're running technical supplies to Anzat Prime and that's all you need to know."

Xeth sighs.

"Xeth Tam, Jedi Knight. I'm working for the Anzat Prime government."

"You don't look like a Jedi," he says.

"Working undercover. Don't believe me?"

Xeth shows him his ID and his lightsaber.

Also, can Xeth Sense anybody else nearby, or anything out of place?

You can sense the other people on the ship, Xeth. But... hmm. You're not sure about something.

"Very well," says the man. "Please come with me." He turns and walsk deeper into the ship.

"Though tis natural that Padawans accompany their Masters, this number of Jedi assigned to aid an already established security entourage is unusual, I will concede that," Kellan replied. "We've been briefed the Council, I've spoken to the Jedi who took the Viceroy into custody and went over his arrest report twice."

"I know, I read it myself," said Ascar. "Unusual coincidence, that. Same boy who messed up the pod racing odds, which lead to our fun little distraction on the track at Malastare, went on to destroy Gunray's Control ship. Though as you and I both know, Master Gundark- there is no such thing as coincidence.

So if the Jedi are so worried about the Viceroy's future... why don't you try and sense it, Master Gundark? That's my advice to you..."

"Ascar?" comes a jolly voice from nearby. Senator Riordan is walking over. "We've got to be moving on, dear boy. Our entourage is ready. My, Master Gundark! Look at this! Quite the re-union. All friends together now, eh? Past unpleasantness forgotten. Jolly good!"

Kellan found herself gritting her teeth and had to force herself not to speak through them. "Senator," she acknowledged, coaxing a smile from somewhere. "Quite the lengthy hearing today."
