"Sundra, I want you to stick close to me. Working together we can be more effective."
*To everyone*
"Ok lets go. Remember the force is our ally use it well."
Runs to the outer hatch.
(Guys if you havent read the Dark Sider thread yet, do it now. I don't want our mission to end up like theirs did. Use you force powers!"
Ok then! Here we go. The doors are blown open as the pirates board, the first wave of a dozen swarming in at once.
At this point we begin a combat sequence. For those of you who have not done this before- i.e. non-Matrix players- this might seem overwhelming at first, but it is easy enough to get into the swing of. I recommend highly that you listen to what the Matrix vets say; they know what they are doing. I hope. Other than that, also refer to the main rules, and the gameplay example thread, for pointers on how to do this.
First of all, I make the speed roll for the sequence on a six-sided die; I rolled 2. Onto this is added your Speed rating to get your starting Frame Number, which helps us see when you act. Also added are any bonuses you get to your 'Initiative'- for example, all Type C templates (Swordsmen and Freelancers) get +1 to this.
Now we start our first 'Sequence'- a series of events in the fight. I kick off by displaying a summary of what is going on. It's a simple fight so this won't take long.
-----
CURRENT SITUATION AT: First Sequence, Frame 11
Boarding area
Xeth: 12/0/10
Roan: 12/0/9
Sunda: 6/0/9
Densk: 10/0/11
Christof: 10/0/11
Anzat Corsairs x12: 0/8

(Rusky seems to be absent for now)
Now just to remind people what the numbers are. The first is your current Force pool, the second is your current damage, the third is your frame number. For your opponents- known as 'mooks' (or unnamed characters) due to their generic and low quality nature, only get two numbers- the first is how well hit they have been (slightly different from damage) and the second is their frame number.
Ok, the person with the highest frame number acts first, and each move you take costs you a certain number of frames, until everyone is done and then we start a new sequence. A typical action costs three frames.
As you can see, you are all acting ahead of the pirates, so you may all act now.
The pirates are an unusual variety of people of different colours and cultures; dressed differently and screaming at you in different languages. They are all armed with blaster rifles.
No-one asked to do anything like wait just behind the hatch to cut down anyone who comes through, so I am making a basic assumption that you guys are a standard three frame movement axtion away from the hatch itself where the pirates just burst in. They will fire in their action of course, so you guys will most likely want to close in first.
---
Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, before the night is out you guys have serious issues to think about. Now you know that the mission is for real, you may wish to consider your next move. There is a mystery here you need to get to the bottom of.
Xeth's eyes go wide as the Anzat Corsairs move into the ship without a word of warning or caution, leveling their blasters. Without a thought, Xeth draws his sonic blaster and opens fire on a Corsair (Gunslinger), and uses Guard for defense.
(Dunno how the blasting is supposed to go, since we lack bursts...should reduce the frame cost to 2 frames for firing and draw without a frame)
No, all you can get from him is terror and various insistances that you put more effort into helping him.
---
Drawing costs a frame, Xeth. So it would normally take you four frames to draw and fire. And no, you don't use bursts in this game. Rolling a +7 means that you rather easily blast down a target!
Sunda keeps pace with you, Roan. Notably, he had already activated his sabre before the fight started.

Ok, the Corsairs are about to fire back, although Densk is yet to act. Christof, you may still attack, and you must prepare yourself for defence. Ask your fellow players what some good defensive options may be when the Corsairs fire back.
