is rapping still cool

just like with any music it depends on the artist.....rap can be cool or it can suck but thats the same with alternative and rock....rappers like eminem keep it fresh bt rapping about things besides f*cking woman....you got ludacris, jay z and nas who can all rap and have there own styles.... but than you got rappers who rap about the same damn thing on every song

i have just got quite into rap recently, so yeah, i think it's pretty good!

rapping is still cool, its just that there are no quality artists around.

wtf??? there are hundreds of good artists out there, its just 90% of them are underground, so most people aint heard them.

rap isnt the same as it was in the 80s and early 90s. back then, guys rapped about how good they can rap, how much game they had, shit like that. now, you got guys like ludicrous talking about "get out the way, byatch." and 50 cent showing off his gunshot wounds and shit. it all started the downhill slide when NWA came along. gangsta rap killed rap. i am sure that there are some good underground rappers who rap with and old school fashion, but the majority of todays rappers are a joke.

No, they're nothing like oldschool rap. And nowadays underground hip hop is TOTALLY different from mainstream horseshit like 50 and Ludacris. Its poetic, intelligent and thought-provoking. Trust me, the underground lyricists of today are much better than any artists of the last 20 years.

better than ALL of them? thats a bold statement. guys like run dmc, krs one, they come along once in a lifetime. i seriously doubt that these new underground rappers can even come close to touching them.

^ I like the old school rap. Like Run DMC and Public Enemy. But all that Hip Hop stuff is just annoying! Gawd! Can they get any louder???

They were pioneers, but that doesn't make them the best. Immortal Technique and Cunninlynguists for example, they're lyrics are complex and layered, they deal with important issues as well as morals and ethics, and present them through narratives of real life experiences...its powerful stuff.

so you prefer gangsta rap over hip hop? its your choice, but i honestly dont see the appeal. here are some artists that are pretty much the best of all time....
run dmc, krs one, public enemy, beastie boys, whodini, eric b and rakim, pete rock and cl smooth, ll cool j, a tribe called quest...there are alot more, but i cant think of them now. the only new rappers i like are DMZ ans Naz.

Some people can rap good and others just ruin it. It all depends on whose rapping... I'll listen if it sounds any good but I don't really

to each their own, but as i said, the new rappers, i just dont like them.

Woah woah woah! Gansta rap? I don't remeber saying nothing about gangsta rap. Gangsta rap died when Ice Cube retired. I was talking about underground hip hop. Very different from gangsta rap. And I would say with confidence that the two artists I mentioned before are better lyricists than any of those you listed there.
