Christopher Lee (Saruman) knew J.R.R. Tolkien personally. He's read The Lord of the Rings trilogy every year since it was published. If I remember quite correctly, he also had a blessing from Tolkien to play Gandalf if ever a movie will be made.

um...the majority of the orcs at the Helms Deep scene were Maori warriors.

Oh ok thanks! 😄 But the "blessing to be Gandalf" stuff, wasn't it in the FOTR commentary though? I believe PJ was the one who said that, I'm not sure, but really cool though. Meeting one if not the best author of all time personally. 😍 😄
