OFFICIAL: POA MOVIE DISCUSSION [merged] **SPOILERS**

when did you guys hear that it would be releasted in four to five months? depending on how old that bit of news is, most likely the date can be pushed further into next year to be realeased. that happens alot with books and such.

I heard it on Snitch.co.uk. To be honest i think ive heard it elsewhere too! Cant remeber though. Lets just wallow in the rumour! xx

Ok guys i just wated the 3rd film and i dont understand it at all.

I Understood EVERYTHING before Ron got pulled under the Tree by that Wolf, suddenly Harry caught Sirus and that other Teacher Wizard stopped Harry from killing Sirus, Then The Teacher Wizard was on the same Team as Sirus both trying to Kill him? then the Teacher said somthing about 1 Minute before you kill him Sirus, then he told him somthing, suddenly This Rat guy was the main killer?

And then i dont understand why Harry had to go back in time?
Also Since that was Harry what Casted that Magic at the end to get away all those Evil things, it didnt look like harry the first time around, the shape was different

I really dont understand any of that, I Need some of you fellow Wizards and Witches to help me if possible 😛?

I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can. If I missed some points sorry.

Sirius went after to kill Harry Potter,?

Everyone in the wizarding community believed the Sirius was behind the killings of the 12 muggles some 13 years ago. He was said to be Voldemort's right hand man. So, when Black escaped from Azkaban they now assumed that he was going to finish Voldemort's orders and that was to kill Harry.

The teacher wizard is Lupin. He is in the same team with Sirius because they were close friends of James Potter. It was tricky in the book too since I also thought Lupin and Sirius were going to kill Harry but it was actually Pettigrew- Ron's rat, Sirius' was really after.

Lupin wanted to clear up certain facts. So he and Sirius took turns in relating to Harry what happened on the night of his parents' murder.

Pettigrew was the one who betrayed the Potters' location to Voldemort. It wasn't fully explained like in the book but the gist was in the movie. (One of my gripes why, they didn't put more of the book scenes).

Anyway, Pettigrew must have turned the tables around at Sirius that night in the alley before the Ministry of Magic caught up with them. Pettigrew killed those Muggles and escaped by faking his death. Effectively, framing Sirius.

And then i dont understand why Harry had to go back in time?

Dumbledore left him and Hermione hints that if they go back in time, two innocent lives would be saved. When Harry found out that Sirius was his godfather, he just had to do something.

Hmm, maybe that the first time around, the camera took Harry's POV. For Harry, he thought he saw his father's silhouette.

Did anyone notice that in the scene where Harry tries to get Professor McGonagall to sign his Hogsmeade form, his scar is on the wrong side of his forehead? I think that's a pretty big mistake.

Its impossible Patronus. And even if it is, then it cant be a mistake. Maybe an easter-egg.

<: ( i was just disappointed. i mean if i wasnt a die hard book fan, id probably say the movie was good, but having read the books so many times and falling in love with all the characters and events it makes you mad when they arent included. little things like harry shooting a patronus at malfoy crabbe and goyle in dementor outfirts and sirius in the dormitory and harry playing quidditch matches ON his firebolt i missed so much! not to mention they havent once pictured Cho, they didnt picture oliver wood in the 3rd movie...and where is pansy parkinson or professor sinistra? <: (. poo...

i was very excited about the book coming to life on the big screen because POA is my favorite out of all of the books and it ended up missing so many parts that i was waiting to seeeeeee! all commotion about the firebolt...... that didnt happen (he got the firebolt in the end! 🤨 ) and also the crookshanks and scabbers fights werent so big in the movie for some reason as they were in the books.......and the PHONE CALL! i was dyingggggggg to see that .... it would've been sooo hilarious to see Ron call the dursleys and scream into the phone. Also the OTHER Qiuidditch match they didnt show (where they won!!!) and there was no sign of Cho ! ....... eTc....missing more parts.

It could've been better if they were more faithful to the book like the other two had been ....... but i'm not saying it was bad. It was GREAT! but not the best it couldn've been...... they said something about time being a problem... who gives a rats ass about time? the Titanic was like four hours long(I rented it, two video tapes)!!!!!!! nobody complained about that...... well I just hope they don't screw up and see time as an important factor for GOF because I'm reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy looking forward to seeing that!!!!!!
u know what would really suck.........if they took out a task from that just to make the movie shorter! I WOULD DIE !

p.S-- is Alfonso Cuaron going to direct that film as well?

I agree with you^ I myself was sooo disappointed-- especially that scene where Sirius entered the dormitory coz they shot it and I saw the film clips! Then it was just dropped from the final cut of the movie!

It would have been better if they just did not film it-- then I wouldnt have seen that clip of Rupert looking sooo hott in pajamas!

Well, not just that... so many other things so disappointing--

no explanation on who the marauders were and that they made that map

Crookshanks almost missing

added elements that were not in the book-- that were totally more dispensable and unnecessary than the omitted important scenes-- like the shrunken heads that had more lines than Mrs. Molly Weasley

And-- the disgusting line-switching! Ron's character defining line (If you want to kill Harry you'll have to kill us too!) was given to Hermione.

And pleeeze-- I dont want Cuaron to direct any of the next films! The only way I can forgive him is-- IF THE HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN FILM WINS THE "BEST PICTURE" AWARD AT THE OSCARS!

That would be the best consolation the HP fandom gets from this adaptation of the 3rd (and arguably the best) book of the HP series so far! However, dont get your hopes up-- IMO its almost impossible coz the Oscars is one of the snootiest award-giving body of all.

lol i agree with that and i agree with everyone els about the movie...sorry to say but it is a lil *ahem..oO boring* ive watched it a couple of times aswell to see if i could adapt to it ya know...i dont like it but maybe ill grow to like it...but it didnt happen....

like i said b4...since most of the people in here are die hard Harry Potter book fans (quote LadySlytherin) we expect alot from the movies....so we have high expectations and the directors know that...but they have time limits so they probably have to pull out the main scenes from the book to the movie....

but i wouldve loved to see the part with Harrys Firebolt in the middle of the movie......i hated the fact that that was the part that ended the movie... 🙁

i was a tad disappointed when i heard JK helped in the screenplay <: ( ida thought she would've been disappointed when they didnt include all the good parts!!! i was chris columbus back to direct the rest <: (

I didn't like PoA...at all 😬 it was a real disappointment because PoA is my favourite HP book 🙁

also are the movie critics THAT blind? they're all like ohh this is the best movie, they've really outdone themselves etc. how much you want a bet they havent even read the damn books. have they even BOTHERED asking what the KIDS think? hell no! i mean the actors were brilliant its just the storyline was all twisted and wrong.
