We stress that every human being must freely set those goals for himself or herself. The Supreme Goal which we choose derives logically from our cybernetic world view: to make a constructive contribution to the evolution of humanity, in order to maximize our long-term chances of survival (immortality). In essence, the 'meaning of life' is to increase evolutionary fitness. Do you agree?

Why is Kabbalah so Popular Today?

Today, many people believe that humanity's progress is approaching a dead end. Our past hopes for a better, happier life through scientific and social progress have been overshadowed by a growing pessimism over what seems to be an impasse.

We see that more and more people in the world are unable to find fulfillment. Once, we thought of ourselves as making great leaps forward, believing we were making substantial progress, but now we appear to be facing some kind of a wall.

Humanity seems to beplunging into depression, suicide and drugs abound, and people are trying to disengage themselves from the world, and suppress their feelings. Terrorism and a rapid upsurge in natural disasters are symptoms of a global crisis, and all these states are leading humanity to one fundamental question: "What is the meaning of life?"

Many people have already begun searching for the answer to this question. This becomes evident if we consider the vast increase in spiritual seekers over the last twenty years.

It is written in the Book of Zohar, that at the end of the twentieth century humanity will start asking about the meaning of life, and that the answer to this question, hidden in the ancient science of Kabbalah, can only be revealed in our time, precisely because of these challenging circumstances.

The science of Kabbalah has been concealed over millennia for this very reason. People were not ready for it, and did not need it. But in recent years its appeal has risen dramatically. Many have taken up Kabbalah studies, curious as to what it can give them. Once a person realizes that Kabbalah answers the question about the meaning of life, he or she no longer feels intimidated by it, and begins to actively engage in studying it.

Ideas that Kabbalah is about magic, miracles, red strings, and holy water are gradually dying out. People can see that these are merely psychological phenomena.

I don't think that Kabbalah is popular.

What period of history has this not been the case just under a different name?

Dur as the meaning of life? The cult of Bada is spreading.

Questions about the ultimate fate of our lives have animated the work of philosophers, poets, authors, and scientists for generations.

I personally think we just live, because we live.

I don't really see the point in there being a meaning, for no one knows what happens once you go.....so..... maybe some individuals learn something, but I sure as hell don't think I will.

the meaning of life is to give life meaning...

I like that..

to give meaning to your life, and then ACT on that given meaning. but make sure its a good one.

To do your dishes with full attention
To listen to your mother speeches with full attention
To listen to your music with full attention
To eat cornflakes with full attention
To wake up with full attention
To wash your back with full attention
To drink lemonade with full attention

Yes I agree with you. I think the meaning of life is to live and enjoy it.

Peace,
Amanda

The general meaning of life is to seek individual meaning in life.
