I don't think life in general has any meaning, or that it needs any meaning. Individually I can say what makes my life meaningful, but saying life in general has a meaning usually implies a creator.

The meaning of life is that you are a social animal, not really even just an animal at all. It roots back to evolution and the beginning of man from one gene pool. It also is that you will die, and that's something I'm interested in, aging.
