Drop the England Portugal match it was a foul!

G.P>This ref was signaling foul every time our attackers fought for a ball, but wouldnt when it was the other way around. Plus a few yellow cards remained in his pocket. Its not my fault your team is always carried around (and this time it wasnt, look how far they got on their own 🙄 )!
This was Portugals chance to play fair and square. In 2006 we are going to be robbed has usual.
At least UEFA has said this was the best tournament so far. Regarding stadiums, games, the ppl, the lack of hooliganism (so good security, despite that dude running around the pitch...actually Greek supports were the ones that cause the most problems in the stadium. Outside was the English). And of course us, and our support 😄
Well back to depression.

Yerss> you know damn well Greece was one of the worst teams of the competition. The only difference between Greece and Bulgaria for example was the Greece is very organized defensively. They are the new Italy.

But yeh Portugal missed a few, we were unlucky. The Greeks were lucky in a few shots and Pauleta shouldnt have played.

Corlindel> Did you see it? It was crazy! Like 10 thousand or 15 thousand before they even reached the bridge. And the team had been threaten. Thats why the human cord was called off.

Kes: Saw it.

The greeks were lucky when Collina didnt see penalties against in Spain and Czech matches.

Against Portugal they didnt deserve to win, as against Czech. But they scored and thats all.

Lets open the World Cup Qualifications Thread 😛

oh my, I'm terribly sorry Kes, I somehow gave you the impression I was talking to you 😕

Well done Greece. Hate the way they play but they're very organised and the Portugese only have themselves to blame for missing a few chances....and it was good to see Christian Ronaldo cry HAHAHAHA.

At least Cristiano Ronaldos unhappiness has made someones day! Hope that makes you feel a better person! 😛

We didn't deserve to loose... but that's football... we've missed some opportunities and they scored in one of the few chances they had... that's the way things are... Now don't tell me that the Greeks are better then the Portuguese cause they're not... they only had better luck... 😉

Kes e Corlindel, nós somos os maiores! viva Portugal! os pardais hão-de ter troco! hehehehehehe 😎

blaiming the ref cause the team sucks is pretty weak, Df02 😛

hey im over it, just find it funny how now its on the other foot the ref is a joke haha 🙂

=> Kes: Conspiracy Theory ? Again ? You're not the only country that never wins... (Spain for instance, despite the fact it has generally a better team than Portugal, never manages to do anything).

If you think the refs are always deciding who will win or not, why do you follow football ???

Kes has never said that.

The only members thinking like that were some of the english ones.

Df02: I am sorry but "the ref is a joke" never crossed the channel. 😐

The ref did some mistakes against Portugal. Thats the way she used the word "robbed". Because she never said that we lost bcs of the ref.

I just didnt like your comment: "If you think the refs are always deciding who will win or not, why do you follow football ???"

And yes some teams were carried around, but it didnt happen in Euro.
And Portugal had a lot of bad decisions against in past, thats the background for Kes post about 2006.

The biggest refs mistakes were two penalties who Collina didnt sign agaisnt Greece, in their games with Spain and Czech, as I said before.

Ok. Euro fun is over. It was very good to do it here. I enjoyed it a lot 🙂

It was a good tournament, not the best and imho not as good as 2000 but still. Bring on the WOrld CUp! Hopefully they would of done something about the Champions League ruining football by then.

Actually the important words in Kes' message were "always" and "as usual" IMHO.

No offense here. I just find it surprising to keep on watching a sport you're constantly blaming for being unfair. 😉 It's just that I do think that everyone should let the ref do their job and not comment on it. There is a commission (sp ?) for that purpose.

I think the refs are doing good, and that people shouldn't try to rewrite the story: the only truth that exists is the ref's. All the rest is rubbish. There are sometimes pressures, and it has happened clearly in internaional competition that home team were carried away, but you just cannot generalize this idea, just because you're angry to lose.

Football is not an exact science. That's why there there will always be decisions that seems questionable. Let's just mention Euro 2000's semi-final, etc... I personally think that France hasn't been much carried around by the Refs (May I just remind you that in 1998 at least 2 major players got a red card: Zidane, for walking on a players lying on the ground => the ref was right, and Laurent Blanc, for a Croatian player was faking to suffer a lot [the images were funny] in semi-final...

et cætera, et cætera, et cætera

PS: the Tunisian ref that didn't Maradona's hand during the '86 WC never appeared again in an international competition...

The ref made some mistakes but that happens... we can blame him, or who we want to that nothing will change the fact that we've lost once again... at least we get to the final for the first time, and we've organized the championship and everybody loved Portugal! hehehehehehe That's good to isn't it?

I just don't understand some ppl... that first when we were wining wanted Scolari now that we've lost they say that he should go... That's really stupid... we've never get so far before...

It's better if we just start to think about the World Cup, the first games for the qualifications starts in September right?

it was a goo tournament, few bad bits....and the frustration of being knocked out on penalties, if we'd have lost any other way id have been happy 🙂

Personally speaking, I thought it was an AWFUL tournament. The only classic game was the Dutch/Czech one...the others being varying degrees of mediocrity and tripe. The only memorable thing about the whole affair was that a complete unknown won it...and good luck to them.

Ultimately, there was more fun listening to the constant whinging than anything much of interest on the football field...

I had fun with the nut throwing that flag at figo and foolishly jumping in the goal

I had fun wih this Thread 🙂

And with the nights after the games, even after the finalgroupdrunkpile
