Which Middle-earth character/s reminds you of yourself - and why?

I know some threads of this sort has been done in the past, but they really went horribly off-topic and they're very, very old. 😛

In this thread, please..please..actually explain "why" the character(s) remind you of yourself...just don't post who the character(s) is/are and that's it. Don't just post a grocery list or something. 🙄

Explain why, so this thread will be on topic and interesting to read. 😉

OK...I'll start. 🙂

Some primary characteristics:
--merry among a few close friends, very quiet in a large group
--would rather be hanging around with jolly young friends & cousins than doing something "important"
--long walks alone, often in the dark
--love the stars, trees, water
--singing and collecting songs (and every now and again, writing one..."I l Love Cheese"..anyone? 😛 )
--when a big decision is due, I sit and think and think and think while people wait for the decision
--pessimism surfaces during difficulties
--wish someone else had been selected to do the job I have
--yes, it's a burden; just keep putting one foot in front of the other

...Frodo. 🙂

Ironically though, I'd say I'm also like Boromir. I'm pretty cynical and suspicious of things that don't seem "right." (IT'S A CONSPIRACY, I TELL YOU!!) I consider myself smart and I don't suffer stupid people everytime. I try to convince people to follow my ideas, and although I'm not as cranky as Boromir, I will sometimes give in and pout if I'm outnumbered. I also get depressed very easily. I don't like working in groups. (The Society of Nearsighted Elves are probably reading this and getting nervous.)

Unlike Boromir, however, I won't try to take things from people. I just get depressed and have the "the world is ending and it's all my fault" pout. I'm not all evil, though; I am very good-natured most of the time. And I'm not as bad as I just said I was about forcing my ideas on people. Most of the time I'll give in to other people's ideas if I'm outnumbered and I WON'T pout. Unless it's a school project and my grades could suffer from it. Then I'm a little more aggressive. 😄

Great, I just made myself sound like a big jerk. I'm really not that bad, believe me! I'm kind and good and friendly and fun and... and... stuff! And for all you Frodos out there, I won't try to take your stupid jewelry!! 😛

Sometimes though, I could also be like Barliman Butterbur, for I have a terrible memory. 😂

Eamor - he reminds me of a born leader, and I of course am a born leader among my friends 🙂 he takes charge when needed and people listen to him. He does a facial expression which I also do.

Probaly Merry or Pippin. Those two Hobbits want to help make a difference, yet no one expects them to. I'm the kind of guy that's small, and doesn't do much since I physically can't do much, just like a hobbit. Merry and Pip were able to do alot, so I hope I can be like them

-i have a habbit of talking before i think, an touching things when i'm not supposed to, kind of like the whole Moria-well thing, i have actually done that before in a store, not a good thing
-id rather be with my friends and having fun than being serious, i'm also slightly lazy in that respect
-i eat like a hobbit... i have seven meals a day (well, almost) and food seems most important to him than the other hobbits

-in some other respects i am like merry, i can be very thoughtful and more philisophical and i do have a quiet side to me, i'm more like pippin though

-i really identify with her in the respects of wanting to escape the cage- my hometown is like one, all very conformist and straightlaced, i just want to escape and do my own thing but there are many people telling me that i can't (my grandparents for instance, don't like the idea that i play the guitar now, they liked my violin), and i have to follow a 'path'... plus i've started to develop a crush on a guy that has been going out with his girlfriend for like 3 years (an eternity for a high school relationship) it's kinda like the same thing with her, its kind of just the image, but he is really nice to me.. i feel kinda bad, i need a faramir! not to sound like a personal add or anything... hehehe

Gandalf -the leader- isnt really fond of me, but later will have a soft spot for me *waits*
I can provide some comic relief when things get bad. well...i try.
Im very proud of where i come from.
And im carefree none of this 'dooom' 'the strength of men is failing!' 'I am boromir, take off your clothes frodo!' upset crap for me 😄

i say pippin too, because im very curious about things, i'm VERY clumsy, i get into trouble alot not in a bad way (by my family)

Pippin- Im always a screwup but im so luvable that everyone forgives me (forget that last part lol) , and I love to eat non stop, mushrooms rule!
Legolas- Im often quiet, rarely shy.

the mouth of sauron reminds me of myself...hes cunning and can think on his toes (i dont know if he has toes 😑)
ok, well anyway, hes the messenger for sauron (in class im always dubbed messenger for the teahcers or whomever) hes not eally in charge of a part of the army (i am not a good leader) all he does is go back and forth between people ect. ect.
he makes empty promises (no so much me) and is a good lier (me, some time i scare myself how good i can liie)
and i think the mouth of sauron reminds me of myself 🙂

I think that I'm most like, Aragorn...

Simply because He has a lot of doubts about himself, and what he can become. He knows he is an heir to the throne, he knows that he is in a line of kings, He knows that someday he can become something, and make a name for himself, accomplish something, but He dosn't know exactly if he CAN, or if he WANTS too. What if he fails, what if its too late, and he didn't try hard enough?

I see myself, as a similar person, trying to decide what to do with the rest of my life, wondering where I will go, and what I will do, as I go into my LAST year of school...after that what next? and what will I do during that last year? How will I come to the throne so to speak,? what if I can't do it? Like aragorn, I'm scared of what I may become. I don't want to put aside the ranger just yet...I'm still a kid(ranger) despite all others saying I'm growing up, and am becoming an adult(king). I know eventually I'll accept it, and move on, but I'm not ready yet, And I'm trying to find my place in this world...
Like aragorn, I find myself singing alot...(cough wish me luck I'm trying out for american Idol 4 on friday cough)lol!
I like walking in the woods, I find myself looking at peoples tracks in the park😖 and wondering how fast they were walking/running.

Other qualities I have, is I think I'm like Beren😮 Always Seeking for that one goal and purpous of his LIFE...And doing anything, and everything to get to it. Risking his life, traveling vast distances, ect...
And he knew that one day he would get to it...

I find myself constantly comparing real life situations and people, and myself to Middle Earth and LOTR
Like when I get a new boss at work, and she's realy mean, and she gives us orders that we all know are folly and unwise, but I follow them anyway, because she's the steward, and I'm a guard of the citadel....and I have to obey her...
Or when My friend moved away to S. Carolina and I didn't want him to leave, but he had to...I saw it as though HE was frodo, and he had to sail away,

Or like yesterday(don't get freaked out)😮
I was playing tennis, and I skinned my knee, and a little Blood got on the raquet, I Felt as though I was in a battle, and I was wounded, But I didn't let my enemy beat me down, I got my weapon, got back on the field(court) and I let her have all my blows....I served catapault after catapault, with swings as fast as gwahir, and it was just like a battle(only not), And I defended my royal court.I was going crazy! It might have been the heat, but it was exilerating...

I enjoy Fireworks alot! I live for the 4th of July, and every year I Dazzle my friends and fam, with a show. 🙄..yes I do (bottlerockets!)ITs so great, I love seeing the colors and light, in the sky, and the loud BOOMS...
