Once she finished her hair, a rather elegant style she had created herself with most of her brown hair up in a bun. From the bun protruded many silky strands of hair, and her long bangs were down. She grabbed up her wand and pointed it at her bangs. They braided themselves neatly. She poked the two braids and they turned a light pink. "Hair: finished!" She told herself.
Lynn put her light pink dress on (it matched her pnik braids), and slid on her white boots. "dressed dressed dressed!" She chanted, looking in a full sized mirror. Her dress was simple yet stunning. It pooled on the floor at her feet, but had long slits on either side that went up to her knees. Around her waist was a darker pink ribbon, tied in place. And the top had two thin straps.
"Heather Heather Heather!!" She yelled.
Heather took the wrapped towel off her head and looked in silent amazement at her new silky brown hair. She brought out a comb and began to run it through it. Her brown hair curled at around her shoulders and she was amazed at how silky it was. She quickly knit it into two braids and looped them together in a bun.
The lavendar dress was pulled over her head. She used her wand to smooth out some of the creases, that had come over the dress since the dau she bought it. Tenderly, she pulled on a pair of high heels of a very light purple. It really set off her look. As a last thing she tied the end of her braids with purple ribbons.
"I'm coming!" called Heather as she came down the stairs.
Lynn stared up at her. "Who're you?" She asked. "Heather!?" She realized it was her friend. "God, your hair!" She squealed like a maniac, hopping up and down. Someone coughed behind her. She turned and saw Josh standing there. The whole common room was filled with others going down to the ball. Lynn gasped at a girl. "Oh my god, Taren!" She said, rushing over.
Heather shook her head as she approached Josh. Josh held out his arm to her and she gladly accepted it. They descended the Grand Staircase gracefully. Heather smiled around into the crowd and saw as people turned to see her new hair do. Some gasped and looked awed, but those like Slytherins tood motionless.
Lynn stood in the middle of a large group, laughing hysterically at a joke someone just cracked. Zach stood beside her, talking to a boy in his year about something humourus.
Lynn waved over to Heather and Josh, and everyone made their way inside the Grand Hall loudly, chatting about anything they felt like. Everything was going great, it was so much fun already.
Heather gave Lynn a little wave before she disappeared into the mob moving swiftly into the Great Hall. She gracefully sat in a chair at an avaliable table, before food appeared on their plates.
She reached toward the other end to get a fork when Josh handed her one. He gave her a smile before he focused his attention on the teachers. Most of them were rising.
Dumbledore raised a hand to silence the students, who immediatly fell silent. "Welcome!" He began. "To the yule Ball! Food will be served now, and afterwords we will have music and dancing, of course!" He sat, and the chatting resumed. Lynn, sitting next to Zach a little away from Heather and Josh, was whispering something to him quietly, then dug into her dinner as if she was starving.
