the limp bizkit version is awful. Fred Durst's voice isn't made to sing--at all.
And not knowing who did As My Guitar Gently Weeps...that's arguably the Beatles BEST song. Written by a Mr George Harrison, not the Lennon/McCartney duo.
Cake's version of I Will Survive is actually better than the original.
I forgot who did the great version of "Burning Ring of Fire", but it was great (though it did not equal Cash's version)
Gah, i can't remember all the great covers...
cover versions can be crap as all the covering band does is just play the song as if they were the real band.
however, some cover versions are much better than the orginal, and bring great music to a new generation.
Good Covers are:
Can't Stand - Feeder (of a Police track)
Just don't know what to do - White Stripes (the best video as well to go with it)
Kyle Cooks cover of a beetles song on 'live in Australia'
