That's not what mainstream is 🙄 I buy tons of CDs, but I'm not an MTV drone that goes "oooh they say it's good so I'll buy it!" There is nothing wrong with liking and having a wide variety of music. Far better than listening to the same 5 tired out bands over and over.

I have mixed opinions on Radiohead because they change there music style so much,some of it,I like,some I dont,but I kind of respect that about them also,that they try different things.

I think the fact that they change their style so much is part of why I love them so much. They're doing what THEY want to do, and that's experiment and make music. Yeah, there are people who don't like that, and expect to hear the same sound all the time, and b!tch when the band tries something else - so far as I'm concerned, they aren't the real fans. So many bands will stick to one sound that the fans like because they're afraid of losing their fans - Radiohead doesn't care.

Personally, I absolutely LOVE Radiohead.

Mainstream music is found on MTV, VH1, etc. Played in movies, and are on soundtracks. 🙂

Non-mainstream music is underground shit, obscure bands not many people know of, or music that is so "out there" that it can never be mainstream, mainly because of the subject matter. 🙂

Rap "songs" don't count because everyone here knows that rap is shitty music anyways. 🙂
