didnt pick up #3, 1 and 2 were good tho...I did pick up the batman 656, good art, very good story, Morrison and Kubert are bringin me back into the batman solo series (i never really left it, but now i'm actually anticipating it)
I thought the writing of 1 and 2 was seriously crap, although the art through out is pretty good. Bataman 655 was great, can't wait for the next issue.
Action Comics #842 - Not great, not shit, but the last four pages... pure awesomeness... Busiek may have trouble writing other characters, but he's up their with the best of em when it comes to Superman... I'm also starting to like Pete Woods' art, though not THAT much...
All Star Superman #5 - T'was good... Morrison knows his way around a Superman comic... but am i willing to wait two months for each issue... imo its not worth it...
Kabuki - The Alchemy #7 - Good... Mack certainly has a flair for Kabuki... enjoyable, though the childrens book motif needs to go... and soon...

Yeah, with Donner right?
Uncanny X-Men #478 - Meh... art is really starting to annoy me in places, it was an ok issue, but brubaker is not on the level he was with deadly genesis...
Phoenix: Warsong #1 - A decent start to Endsong's successor... so-so art (but i already prefer it to endsong's), ok writing, the star wars reference was nice...

He did about a years worth of Avengers books. Solid stuff.
His works all solid. I mean he doesn't have me running to the book store like Ellis and Morison, but his book have a consistency that is really unrivaled at the moment.
Books of last Month ?
OK D.C. last month was Stupendous (I can't believe i wrote that)
Superman ; Brilliant, looking forward to a Arion, Superman showdown.
Flash ; Great climax, the art wasn't great but the story was a lot more 'readable'
Batman ; W.T.F. !!!!!!! Talia and Batman had a son ???, Once again Morison demonstrates he can get me into a book, i wouldn't usually consider. And what about those Ninja Man Bats ?
All star Supes ; I hate frikin bimonthlies, but this is definitely worth the wait. Did anybody else think the Parasite looked just like the man eating Ghost from Spirited Away?
Wonder Woman; I cant believe I'm enjoying a Wonder woman book (Sorry Draco). The arts brilliant, and the storyline is currently D.C's most intriguing. Heinberg may actually surpass his work on the Young Avengers, if the quality remains the same.
G.L. Corps ; I was pissed when Hals book didn't arrive again, but this books keeps reminding me why i dropped Hals book in the first place. Its literally the Bill (An English Police T.V. series) / Miami Vice in space. Guy Gardner is brilliant, (id love to see him get more cover time) and IMO the art is the closet thing to 2001 S.O., at conveying the sheer Immensity and Splendour of space. Griffin and Annihilation eat youre heart out !, this is how a COSMIC book should be written.
comics of the month
I think that The Trials of Shazam and Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters are the comics of the month because the writers take 2 characters in Cap. Marvel and Uncle Sam who are always thought of as cheesy characters and are finally made to be cool. I mean Cap has always had potential but is written poorly. He has a humanoid-tiger friend, Tawny, and Billy speaks too naively (Gosh, Gee, Golly). He is not written for todays teens. Some people thought Uncle Sam was cheesy because he is a character that is based off of that famous poster, but he has always had potential and I have always wanted the Freedom Fighters to get a push and this new team looks very promising.
