Rupert Grint was supposed to be Hillary Duff's Prince Charming in "A Cinderella Story"
Fun fact from IMDb: Rupert Grint was the first choice to play Austin, the dishy love interest of Hillary Duff's character in "A Cinderella Story".
Rupert was originally set to be the film's leading man, but was forced to drop out because of his commitment to reprise his role as Ron Weasley in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
The movie is a modern retelling of the well-known fable-- where Sam Martin (Duff) is supposed to meet her Internet beau, Austin, at the school's Halloween dance.
The role went instead to Chad Michael Murray (Freaky Friday). The film also stars Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s mom in American Pie) as the wicked stepmom.
I did hear this rumor about him doing a movie with Hillary Duff last year... So this was it! Here's a link to the IMDb page.
