Just because Ledger got to act outrageous and be crazy, and Bale had to be tightly controlled of his emotions, doesn't mean Ledger out performed him. It's not Bale's job to match what Ledger's doing; they each had a very different character to play.
Bale is right up there with Daniel Day-Lewis as a method actor, with what he puts his body & mind through to get a part right.

Agreed

The story keeps getting disturbing. Alledgly his mother show up all drunk and abusive and he had her removed...that's when the sister jump in. That's what the press said so far. Gosh, this is just sad.

When I was in the gym this morning, I caught a little bit of the story on the news, and apparently his sister asked him for about 100,000 pounds or something. Don't know the whole story, but I'm hoping things work out for him.

So they are after his money. I thought so. Bale will be exonerated soon

Funny how everyone assumes Bale is innocent by default, I really don't think being the star of a current blockbuster makes one exempt from being a ****.

What makes you think he isnt?

Families often get greedy when a relative becomes wealthy.

Not saying he's innocent by default, but you can't always trust your family. Some of us are blessed.

Now, now, I don't know the whole story, but I believe there was physical violence involved. Are you saying that reacting with physical violence when asked for something, is acceptable in the eyes of the law?

As far as I know there was no physical violence. If so point to the story. What I know is Bale's sister wanted him to pay $200,000 for HER kids. He said NO, which he has every right to. Also I believe shouting started when both his momma and sister were berating his wife which is something you do not do. So again, this is about money and if that is the case then Christian Bale will be exonerated of any wrongdoing

The Batman star Christian Bale was released on police bail yesterday after being questioned over an alleged assault on his mother and sister.

Assault does not mean an argument, they are two entirely different things. Obviously, I'm not saying he's guilty or he's innocent. What I'm saying is that you can't wipe a potential crime under the carpet because it was a result of a spoiled sibling, a crime's a crime.

Thats the exact same thing I have read. No were does it say that Bale physically attacked them. Assaults can be verbal as the case of this. He didn't touch them in any way. If their was even a crime. Why was he released. If a crime truly was committed then I have yet to read that his momma and sister went to the hospital to get photos taken of any injuries they sustained. This was simply a case of a jealous mother who has always hated her son for leaving to pursue his dream of acting in the state of California and of a jealous sister who made nothing of herself and when Bale said no to her money demands that is when they berated his wife and that is when Bale screamed at them. Nothing more, nothing less. Bale will be found innocent as he already is and I will not even be surprised if Scotland Yard drops the whole thing.

He was released on bail, the paparazzi are not allowed to know the full details of an alleged offense most of the time. Had it been a verbal assault, no arrests would have been made and there would be no need to pay any bail charges. If anything, he would have been maybe, maybe charged with disturbance of the peace.

You are listening to one side of the story because you want to believe it. I like Bale as an actor, but I'm not going to completely dismiss the possibility that he may have done something wrong, because he's a good actor.

I don't know why you somehow think that you could see every detail of an alleged offence in a newspaper article, that's simply not the way it works.

The paparazzi are worst there than they are here so I doubt that. I don't recall reading anything about him being released on bail. He was just released after he willingly talked to them for four hours. But if it were a physical assault as you want to believe were is the physical evidence? Did his momma and sister go to the hospital and get checked out? Why did Scotland Yard wait two days after the alleged crime took place. I highly doubt it was because of The Dark Knight coming out. More likely there was no evidence to support any claim of physical abuse except what is being reported as nothing but a shouting match.

I am not believing one side or the other, every paper out here and British newspapers that I have read tell me the exact same thing that there was bodily harm done.

Now your last quote about me inferring what I am thinking. You are doping the exact same thing aren't you. You want to thank and believe that Bale is some sort of abuser, that is your opinion as is mine about him not being one. If there was some sort of physical abuse then wre are the pictures of this. Have you seen them. No one I know has. In fact everyone that I have talked to about this all say the same thing I am, Nothing happened accept a shouting match.

After four hours of questioning by detectives he was released on bail until September
A police spokesman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment. He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He has since been bailed to return on a date in September."

I don't want to think he did anything, I'm just not going to assume innocence because of who he is.

Chill you seem like a cool guy. Unless there is something that is going to change my mind. I 'm not going to believe that he hit them. I really haven't seem any evidence to the contrary. I do know that people have been arrested for verbal abuse and to me that is all this is.
