anyway, so Koto, after this next cover, I was wondering how much longer you think you might continue this. will it be this"when im done I'm done thing? or will you try to end before 2005? speaking of years...wouldnt it be 2030 or 40 in the comics...i mean I know peter parker aged a few years maybe 10 at max i think he's round 28....despite that its been almost 40 real years... so that means that venom aged a few comic years...so judging it would be around the 30's or 40's...(i wont get used to saying that even in my life time...) so wouldnt their be all sorts of new technolodgy, like new micro comps that are the size of a telephone....or gameboy...and blue tooth head set cell phone esc phones, like ear clip phones.... i just was wondering .... i mean it is the future..(or should be)
No, it's not the future in Spidey continuity. They keep it reflecting the current time, although they insist little time has passed in Parker-verse. This means that fashion and fads are VERY fickle there- I mean, the 70's, 80's, and 90's would have elapsed in a few years, not a decade apiece. And Pete probably has fought a villain a day, or something. I think you're right about him being 28- I've heard that figure or something similar before. So far as I know, none of the continuity hounds have combed through the scattered factoids about Brock in order to determine his exact age. I've seen Peter's age plotted out, using the various references in Spidey books to his age and to the passage of time. It's a very complicated process that they use to extrapolate this. Makes me dizzy.
The story takes place in the near future, I explicitely provide no particular date, because it's designed to be open to interpretation (which is why you don't really see a lot of 'futuristic' technology). In my view, Brock in the comics (nevermind any of the Ultimate comics, or whatever) is in his mid thirties. He's easily a few years older than Parker, taking into account that he was a star photographer for the Bugle when Pete was just starting out, so I place him around 5 to 10 years older than Peter. So since Eddie in my story is in his early 50s, it's safe to assume that the story can take place any time between 2005 and 2015 (also considering that the passage of time in the comics does not occur in real time. I mean, how many years has Pete been in his twenty? Like almost thirty years now?) Again, it's really all open to interpretation, but it's no further beyond 2015. Also, keep in mind the She-Venom series takes place in the non-rebooted Marvel Universe (for instance- Any events that took place in the ultimate books has no relivancy to this series)
As for how many more stories I intend to write, I think I already covered this but, I intend to write five or six more stories, then I'm giving it up. I expect the last story will be written some time in the new year (an issue a month, so Jaunary/February will be when the last ish is released)
