I was thinking that if it got moved between the Philosophy forum and Religion forum on the list, that might help a bit.

I' ve always been of the opinion that there should be a reasonable amount of threads first, before requesting any new forums. Supporting an idea and actively participating in the debates have indeed proven to be two different things.

Ironically, the biggest supporter and initiator for the History Forum hasn' t been posting there for more than a half year.

Traffic just never really picked up.

History Forum must stay.

If we forget the past we're bound to repeat it.

do you know of the relationship between Bugs and Elma Fudd?
Bugs would kick, trick, drop things and even blow up things on Elma Fudd, but what really ticks Elma Fudd of is when Bugs kissed him. What your doing is adding insult to injury. Best not do it.

Actually we always relive our mistakes regardless, (Vietnam and Iraq shows us that)

Yes. Because Iraq is just like WWI and WWII.

The History forum never has posts, and has multiple duplicate threads.

Waste of Space IMO.

What I ment is, in Vietnam, Canada and the US tried to fight an insurgent army and got their asses kicked, and given the body count they learned nothing from that. Also in both cases they were in countries they had no business being in.

There is little similarity between the Vietnam war and the Iraq war. What war does not suffer casulties? The Iraq war is alot more succesful then the Vietnam War in my opinion. Although the reason they used to start it, makes little sense to me. People in Iraq are Luckier then those in Vietnam. They didn't have to suffer from a bio weapon as well as the poverty.

How about having a short restriction for new members.. like 2 weeks before they can post, just so they can look around the forums get to know where everything is and where threads should be made..

Or only allow them to post in the Welcome section, I think it would stop thread like this one:

Succesful in what way? The body count of soldiers mounts and they are no closer to having control of the country they illegally invaded now, then they did when this started.

Not really, the invasion wasn't illegal just not a fully just war.The body count is mounting but nowhere near as high as vietnam. Also when the Allied forces invaded we were fighting a goverment only in the rebuilding of Iraq have the insurgents came.

Actually it was illegal, we had no justification for it. And in both cases the armies had to contended with an insurgent army and in both cases they are getting their asses kicked.

What, punish all new members because a very few do stupid things?

And guys, what on earth do wars have to do with this thread?

😂 I guess we got off topic, too bad their isn't this kind of ferver in the history thread or it wouldn't be so dead.

Punish is a bit of a strong word.. I just think that if they could only post in the Welcome forum for about a week or two thats all.. while looking around the other forums. This, in the long run it would cut down on threads being made in the wrong sections and so on.

That would only deter new members from posting, joining in and commenting on topics. It will means a decrease in new blood. KMC is suppose to be a welcoming forum for members with interests in it's many forums. It's understandable to make a few mistakes as a new member, you can't exactly join and know all the about what should or shouldn't be done or you will be suspected to be a sock.

Well at first they claim to have a reason, but it turns out to be untrue. Vietnam war had many more casulties and in the end they never got control. The Iraq war they have gained some what control over the situation. There will always be resistance in any war for various reasons.
I agree the war should never have started, but since it did, they may as well finish what they started, otherwise Iraq will turn out worse then it is and all the effort and the lives lost would be for nothing.

You honestly think any new members would stay if they only had posting access to a pretty much dead forum?

I think people could cope with not being able to post elsewhere for like a week.

Why would they? KMC is not that special.

Good point.

I'm REALLY pressing that we get a feature that when people are ignored, they can't post in your threads.

REALLY PUSHING.
