and love the "Bloody mess" perk, being a melee character (80 melee skill) running around with a supped up sledge hammer and smashing the cr@p out of anyone is hilarious, especially in VATS.

Also does anyone know if theres a flashlight or something in the game? some areas can be a little dark for me...

Hold the button the activates your Pip-Boy, if you hold it your flashlight comes on.

I ran out of ammo in a fight against the fire ants, and had to flee or become BB ribs... that really sucked. Does anyone know of a good place to level up? Last night I ran into Super Mutants and I was only on level 3... 🙁 they turned me out to say the least.

A baseball bat works against fire ants? they have a far longer reach than you have with a bat, when i ran out of ammo I ran in hand to hand with spiked knuckles and if I didn't run away they would have burned me the hell up... plus it was getting expensive I was gobbling stems like halloween candy, so I just reloaded.

I ran into a caravan trader and bought some combat armor, and over the ridge came 3 Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts with power armor, so I tagged along with them and they pretty much took out everything in the way... but we just ran into a group of Raiders, and one of the Outcasts were killed... so guess what I did 😈 took his Power Armor.... only thing is that you need Power Armor training in order to use the armor... well at least I got the armor, I'll hold onto it until I can get the training I guess... 🙂

Do you really? You have the strategy guide? Or have you gotten the training already?

Ants or Fire Ants? Because Ants I could understand, but if it is fire ants, what difficulty do you play on?

I was playing on normal and those fire ants were roasting me, I won the war last night though by taking it slow and killing them off one at a time, my trick was just to save after each kill, so if I wasn't satisfied with the outcome of each battle (if it was too costly) I'd just reload, and try a different approach. I was also injected with a mutagenic ant formula at the end, and I got ant strength, and fire resistance 🙂.

has anyone noticed in their game that there are Super Mutants pretty close to Megaton city? I've had run ins with Super Mutant Brutes, and I just don't think I'm ready for these guys yet, anyone have any ideas?

Take it slow I eliminated them at their source, which I thought was going to be impossible at my level, also if you need more cash go back to the super duper mart and pick everything up and sell it back in megaton even if it's tin can, and empty bottles, the little cash you get comes in handy in the war with the fire ants.

I found a sledge hammer, they hit pretty hard, I just popped this dudes hit with a couple good hits.

Yeah the Sledge hammer is awesome.
