Hayden as Anakin in ROTJ Video

This whole business reminds me of certain aspects of George Orwell's "1984". Where the government have to constantly alter the past in order to ensure that it tallys with the current state of affairs! Perhaps this is a lesson for the future..if you insist on starting a visual saga half way through and then continue to tell that story from the beginning, some of the "later" images will need to change to tally with fresh information.

Yes, it sucks but there are worse things to worry about.

Just like Big Brother, George Lucas loves you..and he is doing all this to tell a simple story the best way he can.

You'll thank him for it one day...............

Absolutely. Lucas clearly and understandably sees this as a key issue, something that has not been entered into blindly and without consideration. It is a terrible shame that Sebastian's image will be lost but we need to look at the bigger picture rather than focussing on a dewy eyed nostalgic image of what we prefer. Cruel it may be but we are witnessing a corrective measure in an aspect of what will be viewed by history as possibly the greatest story ever told.

You know, i don't really get why everybody cares about what GL does to the trilogy, it's his and no matter what he does, the story is the same. And if you don't like it, then i guess you won't own an official dvd copy of the Star Wars trilogy. I mean i don't really think it's necessary to put in haydn, but it's still going to be the same RotJ. And the official DVD quality will be so much better than any ld copies you can get. I think some people get way to into the specifics and can't just look past the new, even unecissary, add ins GL put in, and say i love the story and the characters are awesome. I think a true fan cares about the story and not about what happens in the movie. Look at LOTR people have loved the stories forever and, even though the movies turned out completly awesome, there will always be people who love LOTR. It's not the movie that makes the story, after all. Even though, for Star Wars, the movie is the main part, it's the story you should all care about. The movie is just GL's way of getting HIS story out.

Another guy who tries to be funny or smart, not sure what...and yet doesen't make any sense whatsoever...

I think just the simple fact that the technology exists to take a vision and alter it to make it what you always envisioned is amazing. I applaud Lucas for at least sticking with the full plan...Waiting for the technology to come along to make his TRUE VISION come to life. He gave us what he could with what he had all those years ago, and now he's giving a new generation the same story with a few touch ups...Always remember the plot remains the same...He's just piecing it all together so the puzzle is complete. I mean come on guys...This is the man's life work...If he made it perfect in his mind the first time, you'd have nothing to complain about. Yes he is rich and yes he gets all of our money, but we do pay, and keep paying...Do you really blame him? If you think about it...It really is an ingenious plan...He made one little 10 million dollar sci-fi film in the 70's and the money never stopped coming in. Years later with the billions he has he can fix his work to match his vision. Now tell me...How many of you wish you could take something you did that was ok before and fix it something that is perfect in your mind...No ex-wife jokes please...Just kidding...Take care guys...P.S. wow, I have been fille with hope, this is the first thread I've hit today where people were positive, and thinking ahead that maybe in the long run this WILL be a good idea.

And Dirty Vader, if you're gonna post such strong opinions, you have to expect strong retaliations. "The more you tighten your grip the more {members} will slip through your fingers".

It Makes Sense, I mean anakin basically died lightside, darth vader wasn't anakin..exactly...they improved it and showed what anakin was like as a jedi... in the original 1 that wasn't edited they showed some guy who was shorter then obi wan (Darthvader/Anakin is taller then obi wan) and hayden was in cw and is gonna be in rots it would make more sense. That's why they did it... and I dont think gl ruined his film...he made it better

i think its more to do with the fact that some people dont like hayden being anakin in the first place (myself included), sure lucas was doing the right thing, i still hate lucas for changin it though, i preferred the original actor.

but hey, at least you admited the Hayden thing. I think that has far more to do with it. But the thing for me is, is this movie about Sebastian Shaw? no. Its about Anakin the CHARACTER. So the story should suit the character and if changes are made for the character, then its improved. Its not like they replaced Luke. They replaced a guy with a couple minutes of screen time, and his more important scene is still intact, well, minus the eyebrows. But I like that, I always wondered how he burned his head and hair off, but his eyebrows are still there? no way. So I like it. and I like the reasoning behind it.

Okay, I saw it last night......and I'm sorry this was lame. Hayden Christensen and Lucas are on my bad list. I understand is Lucas vision, but that vision has turn sour for me. Go on! if you guys want to explain the logic and reasons for Lucas putting Hayden in ROTJ...I really don't care much anymore. This was just the last straw for me.

For me Star Wars was a piece of Art. But I guess the artist isn't satified with his work. It's ashame really, because I felt that there was no need to alter the masterpiece.

i think it works well, and Star wars movies are some of the bast but they are NOT art!! if you want art movies try Kurosawa, Bergman or Leone.
