Ok, so I'm about to ask about a specific place in the game just to let you know.

Spoiler:
So have passed the part where you return to Rabanastre after rescuing Penelo?

It's asking if you've passed a certain part of the game.

Spoiler:
The Mine in which you're referring to isn't the first one that we go into in the game is it?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Double Post. Sorry.

No I'm quite a bit past that.

Ok, just checking based on your levels.

Everythings good now.

its an amazing game, im about n7hours in so im not that far.. great game though. balthier owns

after almost a year I'm back at KMC, just in time for the release of this game and it rocks....

I remember back in the FFX-2 thread, commenting on how fun and silly that game was and expecting a whole different experience with XII, and boy did we get it.

got my hands on the game last Friday, but wasn't able to play until Sunday. Amazing. At first I was a little worried about how unfamiliar everything felt (for a FF game that is, not including FFXI), but soon after it started to grow on me, just as soon as the license board was explained, I got so excited and I hadn't even fought a single monster 😄

then when the city opens I was overwhelmed with all the places you can go and fight rite at the start. (got my ass kicked by cockatrice 😑 )

love the battle system, it feels like a online RPG (or like KOTOR for that matter) Now it's so rewarding seeing a monster and actually wanna fight it. didn't realize on how willingly i was gettin into a fight until my first game over and having to re-do the whole leveling up thing. The scope of the game it's grand, I've only been in one city and I feel overwhelmed with it's size and the amount of people in it. the license board it's so easy and till this moment fun to use. only got one character (I'm only 6 hours into the game mostly leveling up and talking to everysingle person I find) and I don't really know how my characters are going to turn out (should I stick with the longswords for Vaan or should I use the daggers 🙂 )

gil doesn't seen like a problem, not now anyways since I always steal and get a whole lot of loot to sell.

I was so delighted to see

Spoiler:
: Montblac
: inside the clan hall. I'm sure many FF:TA fans felt the same way when seeing Ivalice fully 3D rendered.

got a whole lot to play, but I got so little time, specially with college and all, but it's certainly an amazing game, a great comeback for FF and nice way to say goodbye to the PS2 (is there any other great game for us to wait?)

I actually haven't used the "Steal" ability at all so far.

Stupid me actually picked a fight with the

Spoiler:
T-Rex
right outside of Rabanastre at the beginning and
Spoiler:
lost
.

I was so over my head.

I actually chuckled for some reason when the opening to that section opened up and then the

Spoiler:
T-Rex
ran across the screen chasing a smaller creature.

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

My scan of that one showed him to be Lvl. 34, on my way back after the underground escape. So yeah, he's not to be touched for a while, I think.

I actually haven't lost a battle yet. People have gotten KO'd, but only one at a time. So far.

I used the steal ability a lot from the start, but I don't so much now. I could probably set up a gambit for it... but I don't have the parameters I'd need to make that useful.

How are your character's levels?

Haven't lost yet? That's good.

How was it for you going through that underground railroad level?

I lost the first time and then had to progress little by little but then go back each time and save then continue ahead and after I got a little further, go all the way back and save again like that.

I hated that stage.

When is the last time you've played?

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

I don't know my exact levels, and I haven't played in a while. I haven't really stopped in one place to grind, except for getting absorbed in the fun of slaughtering every enemy I can find, from time to time. I had a little bit of difficulty with the

Spoiler:
six Imperials in the Leviathan's brig before getting Ashe
, but I think that was the only time two people were KO'd at once. I think I'm probably at the intended level for the point in the game I'm at.

Which underground area are you talking about? I was referring to

Spoiler:
Barheim, where all those Mimics were
.

Ill admit i lost once to that t rex to see how strong he actually was and YEA HE WAS LOL

And yea that opening scene was funny

So I played last night and im 17 hours in at level 18 for all my characters, im in the

Spoiler:
sky city area after shouting BASCH LIVES my god that was annoying
I dont have much time to play since im working full time and weekends are my break but i usually play after work and mornings on the weekends soo yea...im gunna get them to level 20 then i'll move on from where i am

Ok so i noticed Vaan as the most Vitality which = defense so thats why i make him tank... I always use fran im using fran vaan and basch...

Ive always wondered, do the stores give limited weapons always? or is there something i have to do to make them sell more? Or is it just like that... sometimes i think when you level up they have more to sell but w/e

Basch has a Lance
Vaan has this new sword now that does 29 dmg
Fran has her V bow or w/e with the 2 dmg arrows

And if anyone can help me, should i focus on more characters levels? like is anyone going to be leaving the party for a while? if so i dont want to use him yet

Keep the characters at a fairly even level for a while longer before picking a favored team and sticking with it.

And you're at the same point, on hour 17, that I was at on hour 7.

Oh, and for those wondering about what the deal with guns is, they're simply not as strong as other weapons. They also take twice as long to attack with as conventional weapons. The plus side is that a gun attack completely ignores an enemy's defense, and will never, ever miss.

Yeah, those

That's the area I'm talking about.

I took it as being as you progress in the game the shops begin to have more stuff. Like they're not going to have very strong weapons in the beginning when you're weak and probably can't afford them anyway.

As you progress, the stores progress. That's how I see it anyway. I was wondering how that worked as well.

And if my memory serves me correct

Spoiler:
you don't lose any characters anytime soon, at least not where I've progressed you don't.

Spoiler:
Is that the Giant Fire bird outside of Raithwall's tomb? (it was a long time ago for me, I don't remember lol) If it is, I beat it with without help. I didn't even know you could get help...... 😕 It wasn't that hard, I just used Quickening to get it to like 1/4 of its health right at the start then changed characters (as I had no more MP left with my current characters) And let loose with Black Magick spells until it died. It only took like a min and a half to kill it.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Well it seems someone took some real quality time leveling up and gaining LP's and stuff.

At that point I didn't have any

Spoiler:
Quickenings
.

So yeah, I definitely needed help from them and I got it. You also witnessed some in game cut scenes going through the process of getting the help.

So I'm glad I did.

I'm definitely going to take the time to level up and get some more

Spoiler:
quickenings
soon, b/c I only have one and it seems you all have a more, so yeah, I don't want to complete the game without having gotten all of the [spoilerquickenings.[/spoiler]

It did say each character is only allowed 3 of their

Spoiler:
quickenings
, so does that mean that you won't be able to get all of them?

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

You should be able to get all of them. Whenever one character gets one, that one disappears from everyone else's board. But I think there's enough that everyone gets all three.

I thought they were specific to each character so there were different ones on each board.

B/c one of them was in a certain spot on Penelo's board and it said it was specific to her, but on the same spot on Ashe's board there as a different one that said it was specific to her.

So I don't think they're all just the same ones on everybody's board and it depends on who gets to them first, unless they're scattered around in different places on their boards.

I have no desire to play Final Fantasy RPG's anymore. They have become quite boring and repetitive(to me of course) FFIII was was a masterpiece in terms of it's overall innovative approach to gaming - and its captivating storyline.

I did attempt to play FFVII at one point(if I remember correctly - it was at a bud of mine's) And I also attempted to play FFX(which was extremely boring and unoriginal - only good thing about it was the CGI(Computer Generated Imaging))

The last good RPG I played from Square in terms of story and gameplay was Chrono Cross. They had better get their act together - or else they shall be going the way of the dinosaurs(which are now extinct)
