Very true, too...

Hey PVS, I think this is the first time I've seen you outside of the SW forums on here 😛

Yup. Only time I've ever seen him crossover, too.

BTW, I used to think the whole "Cheney runs things" idea was false, but I've been converted. Bush... heh...

i'm still at a loss as to understanding why anyone still defends george bush, he hasn't made america safer at all, if anything hes put it in more jeopardy than before, and as for the patriot act, well, i was planning on moving to america to start a new life for myself, but now i'm not so sure.

I beg to differ...

He's made the entire nation a lot more aware of the potential threats against the nation. Awareness and education are the best tools humans have against terrorism and post 9/11....the entire world is a slightly more terrorism conscious entity.

How exactly do you plan on providing any proof of your claim that America is in more jeopardy now than it was before he decided to act in the way that he did. Are there more terrorist attacks on America now? NO. Are our borders more unsafe than they were previously? NO.

The only reason you make that comment is because now you finally realize the real threat that terrorism is to your everyday life.

As for the Patriot Act....what's with everyone b!tching and complaining about the damn Patriot Act???

"OMG! They can do background checks on us....our lives are over!!! "

Bleh! That's nothing but bullsh!t. Are you making bombs in your home? Are you hoarding thousands of illegal weapons in your home? Are you planning on massacring an entire school full of children?

No, no, and no. So who cares if the government looks at your record and finds out you worked at McDonalds when you were 17 years old? If you aren't doing anything illegal, then the Patriot Act doesn't do anything negative to you.

OMG! A watch list! Jumpy

Big whoop. If you don't want to be on a watchlist...then don't be a terrorist in America.

I mean i know this wont stop them but i think it will be a step in the right direction.

Oh by the way i Hate John kerry but then again who is the worst.

Say what? The terrorist would prefer Kerry over Bush? I guess George has really make life miserable for those cave dwellers. Hmm.....maybe re-election is not such a bad idea. I hate terrorist more than Bush. So if Bush is giving a hard time to those bastards....I guess keep up the hard work.

see, we as americans share a very short attention span. (i share the guilt, but always want to change my outlook) its just the way we are raised, everything is intant, and if it isnt, we simply forget.

the talaban gained power in afganastan, which was once a beautiful country.
after being bombed into submission by the soviets, america gave militant groups (osama bin laden included) training in warfare and sabotage of the soviets...we basically trained them to be terrorists, except it was the soviets who were attacked, and not us.

after they successfully drove out the soviets out of afganistan, the u.s. under reagan broke its promise to help rebuild afganistan, and simply turned its back. we left a massive power vacume which would eventually be filled by the taliban, and would eventually lead to......you know what.

sure, its the really really abridged version, but its basically the story of what the hell went wrong in afganistan. indirectly, through apathy, we helped make it what it is today. a wasteland, and a perfect breeding ground for terrorists.
these events took place over the course of about 20 years.

so, where will iraq be 10-20 years from now?
will it be a peaceful wonderland as dubya predicts?
or will we meet the same results as when we helped
'liberate' the afgans in the 80's, and gave them their 'freedom'?

Oh you got us all wrong Linkalicious, all wrong 😎 I couldnt give a shit if your country is spying on you and has a right to arrest you based on a suspition rather than evidence, i dont care, because Blair might be a prick like no other, but at least we still have more freedom in our country than in USA.

And omg 😂 like anyone gives a shit where you worked when you were 17! 😂

Theyd rather monitor the books you read and sites you visit, etc...and if you say something thats remortely anti-american death you're a terrorost!!

Maybe you like being watched over and controled, but not all Americans do.

Wait...I remember something smilar happening in Third Reich...hmmmm

^^^^

a crude rebuttal, but i agree😛
as thomas jefferson(i believe) stated

"A people who would sacrifice liberty for security will lose both, and deserve neither"

history has proved this time and time again.
as lilbitchiness points out, the third reich was born out of
such a need for safety...look how that turned out....

Thanks for the history lesson big guy.

where will Iraq be in 10-20 years.....no one knows...only time will tell.

What's different this time? America wants to stay this time. Under Bush, America doesn't want to just pack up it's bags and leave the country in the mess that was made. Under John Kerry, America packs their bags, leaves a mess, and suffers similar to what happened in Afghanistan.

naaa dont put words in his mouth.
where did you hear that anyway?
research it:

Kerry:“Nobody wants to bring troops home more than those of us who have fought in foreign wars._ But it needs to be done at the right time and in a sensible way._ This is not that time or that way,” Kerry said. “For example, why are we unilaterally withdrawing 12,000 troops from the Korean Peninsula at the very time we are negotiating with North Korea – a country that really has nuclear weapons?”

oh really?

I HATE AMERICANS! I'M GOING TO BOMB EVERY MAJOR CITY ON THE EASTERN SEA BOARD AND THEN LET LOOSE A WAVE OF BIOLOGICAL WEAPONRY ON ALL OF CALIFORNIA.

There...according to your OH SO INTELLIGENT comment....I'm officially on a watchlist for saying something "remotely anti-American"

Get a freakin clue. The American government watches over "potential terrorist threats" using the Patriot Act. They don't waste their time worrying about stuck up little girls visiting the United States from the UK. Your freedom and liberty suffer zero.

OMG! The government knows that I spent the better part of my summer reading Harry Potter books....whatever shall I do? Oh lord I also read Meine Kampf this summer too....I MUST BE A TERRORIST. 🙄

What am I saying? oh god, my government must be controlling me, I'm not responsible for writing that. I'M BEING CONTROLLED!!! 😱

again....Get. A. Clue. American's aren't WWII Germany, our goal isn't genocide. America doesn't want to rule the world. Oh wait...that would be the Third Reich

anyway yeah, korea has actual WMD's and we pull our troops out.
feel safer now everyone? sleep tight...zzzzzzzzzz

Awesome reply!! 😂

I have also observed the following:

Any American with some kind of higher education sees whats actually happening in USA.

But thats cool Linkalicious, you're reply just proved to the rest of the board how clueless you are, and its a good thing Americans like you are in minority.

In the words of BackFire:

''Off you go now'' 😊

America doesn't want to rule the world.

are u sure?

This coming from someone who has been proved wrong time and time again in this thread. Yet still believes she is the authority on the issue.

Need I get Ush in here to shut you up again?

You talk and talk and talk as if you know anything about running a country, as if, you being president would make the US a much better place to be.

You don't live here, yet you know "everything" about this country as if you were a resident.

I talk from first hand experience, yet YOU are the authority on the subject with no experience.

And who exactly would that be? Tex? Yah, between him and you I've seen enough emails and spoof web pages quoted on this subject to know how truly in the dark you actually are.

Don't you have some more satiracle policitcal cartoons to post. Those seem to be about the best arguement you've put up thus far.

A post reaking of intelligence and something else...*sniff sniff* something resembling fish....

Ahem...

Run along now.

I talk from first hand experience

First hand experience of what? are u a government official? are u a soldier in iraq?

look, this is a political debate,
whats with the personal nonesense?
its dumbing down this arguement big time.
read the news, get the views from BOTH sides,
and make an educated opinion.

so long as you do that, you dont deserve to be attacked.

this is just pathetic though

pvs it wasnt personal at all, i just wondered what he meant

I'm a citizen of the United States.

The same citizen who is

- being controlled
- has no freedom
- is part of the new Third Reich
- wants to take over the world

I'm speakin from first hand experience of how the Patriot Act does NOT change your day to day life in the least.
