John Kerry

Looked like it was a pretty even debate from what I saw, Cheney did way way way better then Bush.

yeah, he's way better at ignoring the issues.

notice when edwards brought up outsourcing of jobs, and cheney pretended like he never heard it.

notice how when edwards brought up TWICE how cheney/bush opposed an independant 911 commision, cheney just dodged the issue entirely.

notice cheney spewing out superficial figures to avoid the issues.
edwards: we have put 200 billion into the iraq war.
kerry: your figures are wrong, it was only 125 billion.
--oh...thats all? HA! mere bag of shells

cheney even had the nerve to deny that our troops (U.S.) have taken 90% of the casualties in this "coalition of the willing" THE F***ING NERVE

notice how cheney remembered exactly how much edwards saved on his taxes, but openly admits to having no idea of how many people have died of aids. priorites???? and yet we had to listen to his 90 second speech on curing aids, as if he really gives a shit.

its not about the shiney teeth,
its about the shiney conscience.

That debate was nothing but 2 guys making accusations against the other followed up by

"he's lying"
"he's exaggerating"
"No, he's the one who's lying"

I only got to watch about 30 minutes, but that was pretty much all I heard.

One thing I did like about one of Cheney's responses to an Edwards accusation about Haliburton was that he said "go to www.factchecker.com, he said it's indepently owned, and that it gives unbiased facts" That shut Edwards up fast on that issue.

But I still think in general, witht he poise he showed....Edwards won. By not by nearly the same margin as Kerry over Bush.

At the end where they throw their kids on stage for one last glamour shot before TV coverage ends was pretty lame.

I think Cheney took it last night. I saw moments of pettiness, smarmyness, and "look at me, I'm pretty!" from Edwards, but Cheney handled himself well.

As far as content I think they both had their ups and downs, but Cheney acted more composed, which the people notice.

true, but if you check www.factcheck.org

You'll see that most of the issues and accusations made by Cheney were very false. Like the 900,000 small business owners who would be affected by Edwards/Kerry's take cut program.

The actual number is closer 437,000.

But Edwards made a big issue of Haliburton, and almost all of that stuff went on before Cheney was even CEO of the company.

LOL. Yeah, that guy's from my state (NC), and he's definately a pretty boy if I ever saw one. 😘

whats really funny, is cheney actually said to check www.factcheck.com instead of .org. check out the website he suggests to you, its a riot!!! 😄 😂

Cheney did screw up on that didn't he. 😆 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6191971/

And about Cheney NEVER meeting Edwards except during this debate...well examine this pic and try to agree with the Vice President. 😈

Here's more. They actually met about three times before. Cheney even mentioned Edwards' name during one of those meetings.

http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap20041006_463.html

"Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the Senate most Tuesdays when they're in session. The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight," Cheney told Edwards during the debate.

On Feb. 1, 2001, the vice president thanked Edwards by name at a Senate prayer breakfast and sat beside him during the event.

On April 8, 2001, Cheney and Edwards shook hands when they met off-camera during a taping of NBC's "Meet the Press," moderator Tim Russert said Wednesday on "Today."

On Jan. 8, 2003, the two met when the first-term North Carolina senator accompanied Elizabeth Dole to her swearing-in by Cheney as a North Carolina senator, Edwards aides also said.

Edwards didn't forget their prayer-breakfast meeting. The Democratic vice presidential candidate noted the discrepancy at a post-debate rally in a Cleveland park, calling it an example of Cheney "still not being straight with the American people."

"The vice president said that the first time I met Senator Edwards was tonight when we walked on the stage. I guess he forgot the time we sat next to each other for a couple hours about three years ago. I guess he forgot the time we met at the swearing in of another senator. So, my wife Elizabeth reminded him on the stage," Edwards said as the crowd roared.

According to Edwards' staff, Cheney replied, "Oh, yeah."

"She reminded him about the truth," Edwards told the crowd, "and come November, we're going to remind him that the American people do not want four more years of George W. Bush."

I think that Cheney did do a better job than Bush did and had some good points. I think that Kerry spoke better during Bush's debate...and Bush did kind of weak...even though I like Bush better...but I thought Cheney totally whooped Edward's ass last night by far.

I'll tell you where Bush stands...in defending this country...going after terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. He stands for it because we wants to seek and destroy terrorists wherever they are, and keep the United States and other countries safter. Where does Bush stand? Come on. Bush strongly stands for this. You should know this. I don't think Kerry knows where he stand, he was for hunting down Saddam, then against aiding the troops, and then it was the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know, I know...he would have done it differently. But it's easy to just say your gonna do something...doing it is different...And doing it is what Bush did. No one is calling you a moron for not liking Bush. And you should not be calling anyone a moron for liking Bush.

Bush supports always say they are voting for him because they know where he stands. Really and where is that? Pick a few issues and tell me where Bush stands and maybe even why he stands for it? I would love to here more info rather then just calling me a moron because I don't like Bush.

hunchy, are you quoting someone...or talking to yourself. The second paragraphs makes it seem like the first is a quote.

Sorry, my bad.

This is the quote:

"Bush supports always say they are voting for him because they know where he stands. Really and where is that? Pick a few issues and tell me where Bush stands and maybe even why he stands for it? I would love to here more info rather then just calling me a moron because I don't like Bush."

The second one was...

bush is hunting down the terrorists.......

"I want justice. And there's an old poster out West, I recall, that says, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.'" [President Bush, on Osama Bin Laden, 09/17/01]

"I don't know where he is.You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him."
President Bush, Press Conference, 3/13/02

yeah, going after the terrorists...all of them except the one who masterminded the 911 attacks...but thats just superficial right?

QUICK!!!! LOOK AWAY!!!!! DONT READ THE TRUTH!!!!!! RUN!!!!! RUN!!!!

Bush's whole agenda has been seeking down terrorists. If you can't see that you are blind.

Plus you listed ONE terrorist...yes a major one who must be caught...and is being hunted down...the whole war is about seeking down terrorists and we have kidnapped and killed lots.

One could argue that he has created more terrorist by invading Iraq then he has captured and killed. Let's make this perfectly clear. Bush did not invade Iraq to go after terrorists. That is what he is saying now that his original reasons didn't pan out. WMD are MIA.

Who is benefiting by the invasion in to Iraq? Can we all say Halliburton. Not that Vice President Cheney is benefiting directly but all their powerful friends are. Money money money.

After all Bush and friends can't stay in power forever. One must prepare for the future. Might as well have rich powerful friends that made large sums of money to be there for you. As qouted from a Bush speech at a diner with his special people...

'Some people would call you elite. I call you my Base.' Nothing like having rich powerful friends.

One final Note: Hunchy please start posting 1 post at a time instead of constantly flooding the forum with your views. You certainly have the right to share your opinion but spaming is spaming.

as i cant seem to state clearly enough,
the scumbag who carried out the murder of 3000+ innocent people is free.
bush openly stated that he didnt care.

now at election time, he cares again? bullshit.
u.s. forces had osama bin laden cornered and were ordered to withdraw.
i cant believe that this doesnt bother you in the least.

well it bugs the shit out of me.
i HEARD that 2002 statement on bin laden and from that moment
on, any lingering support for the commander in chief vanished.

so either argue that point or just spew out more baseless blanket statements.

hunchy, youre a regular one-man-thread.

I just want to note that this is the sort of "quoting" that was done by Bush in order to shmear Kerry's views on the war. Which was his basis for the "wrong war, wrong time, wrong place" arguement.

Taking quotes out of context instead of showing the entire quote. It's really weak if you ask me. What were all of Bush's words in that quote?

Bush doesn't even address who "he" is....so who knows if he's even talking about Osama.

nice try though.
