of course, first we have to see what selleck is capable of and only then we can judge.

did you know he almost played indiana jones?

Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, he turned it down, was too busy with Magnum I think. But I think he would have been a great Indiana Jones.

Speaking of Indiana Jones, Alfred Molina, the current Dock Ock in Spider-Man II, also played a (funny) role in first Indiana Jones. He was the jungle guide with lots of spiders on his back. Spiders, you get it...? Oh well, never mind.

Back to topic : Mel Gibson is a little bit too old to play Tony I think, but he remains a great actor. Cruise is not a bad choice, and maybe Depp could do it too.

Other actors I can see playing Tony Stark : Brendan Fraser (underestimated, can play different kinds of roles), Christian Bale, Charlie Sheen and Colin Farrell.

i get it! thats pretty fun--*cough cough* oh sorry i was choking on irony 😛

Ha ha, a Batman fan with a sense of humor, how... strange (no irony).

Colin Farrell? No way man. Not Iron-Man.

I'd rather have no-name actors for comic book movies. Although Sean Connery would be a funny Iron Man.

I agree he isn't the best choice, but why not ? He's a good actor.

about antonio banderas, i ddin´t said anything about him, i didn´t said he couldn´t do it, if you want my opinion i think he isn´t the best choice, but i´m not saying he is a bad choice i never said that.

i honestly think harrison ford was the best choice, but to be exact i would have to see the movie with him (selleck)
mel gibson i agree his a little bit old to play the part, i was just saying he is a great actor.
And Depp can do whatever he wants

I think if it came down to it I'd feel safer with Cruise doing it.

I hate frugging mel Gibson. With a passion!

Mel Gibson is a good actor, however, he does not have the superhero appeal. This character would not be compliable with gibsons style of acting. Tom cruise, well i mean he is to young and to much of a pretty boy to play someone as the decadant tony stark. Stark has a serious charm to him that can go to bad ass kicking mode in a second all the while still able to quote some sciene. Cruise would not be a good choice, and if Cruise was cast the entire iron man production would turn into a hollywood driven movie like batman and robin and all the other holly wood crap comic movies

if it is gibson ill shoot my self in the head

do you really think gibson would accept the role? i mean that seems like somthing he wouldnt do anymore, maybe like 10 years ago. He's into that realistic shit anymore, not that thats a bad thing as long as he stays away form the war epics, patriot Ooh what a peice of copied crap

if frucking gibson is tho the movie will have people who dont even know ironman but if it is you can say BULL SHIT. any who lets safly say this i hope its the ultimates costume.

No way Mel is doing Iron Man, I'm sure of it. Not his cup of tea.

Tom is not a great choice for the role, Antonio woulld be better but then I would remember him acting in spy kids as a scientist (not a good reminder).

Antonio has a better look as Tony Satrk, and I can't remember any other actor to cover the role right now.

I agree with you on the Mel Gibson statements. It's not really his type of acting. And he's more the type that defies the odds rather than kicks the crap outta everyone.

But I honestly don't see what you're saying about Tom Cruise.

Too young and too much of a pretty boy? Have you seen any trailers or commercials for Collateral? With the gray hair, he looks over 40 years old....quite easily.

I've never seen Cruise as a "pretty boy" because I save those comments for Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, and Leo Dicaprio.
Bloom in particular....

Charm? Watch Vanilla Sky, Top Gun, Jerry Maguire.

Decadent? he's a deteriorating alcoholic in The Last Samurai.

Ass Kicker? Mission Impossible 1 & 2, Minority Report, The Last Samurai. And of course....Legend! 🤘

I really don't see how Tom Cruise playing Iron Man is going to be anymore "Hollywood driven" than Ben Affleck playing Daredevil, or Toby Maguire playing Spiderman.

The whole industry is Hollywood driven. Batman and Robin sucked because of the director and the production. It was all about the suit, and the florescent colors. I don't see anyone making that mistake with Iron Man.

I don't really like him as ass kicker that much. I like his movies, they were entertaining. The last samurai is a bit of a joke but never mind.
I'm sick of scenes where the camera is shaking so much that I don't know what is going on. If they hold it steady just for one second I might see some sword fights.

Mission Impossible - cool
Mi2 - load of crap

Minority Report - ok
Vanilla Sky - great movie, no doubts there
last Samurai - ok (i find it hard to believe that the japanese woman didn't perform sepuku while he was in their house)

he's a good actor, but I really don't see him as Tony Stark. I know Banderas is latino but he would look good as Tony.

I can see him as Stark. Give Cruise the right hair style and a goatee he'd certainly look the part. He's done some great acting, and could definatly play the role of Stark. A very smart, grandoise, yet tragic man.

Tom Cruise is amazingly short also. No major minus however.

As for his back catalogue, I think Top Gun sucks. So did Minority Report and both Mission: Impossible movies. The first was sleep inducing, the second just pure action.

The only movies I thought he was good in was Eyes Wide Shut and The Last Samurai.. He seems to be actually getting better at movies as he gets older.

Top Gun kicked ass! tomcat

It's just an older version of The Fast and The Furious. Minus cars, plus planes.
