does anyone know whos gonna direct ironman....i think alot if the "staying true to the comics" depend more on the director than the actors...look at the batmans and spider-mans...once burton left batman started to suck and i predict the same will happen if they make a 4th spider-man without raimi

Call me crazy but I was just never impressed by planes flying around real fast and men playing volleyball half naked. I saw it once and never ever....ever saw it again.
It's just like The Fast and The Furious in that it has stuff that impresses guys that are easily impressed and stuff that impresses women who are easily impressed, Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. Instant mainstream success. I think the screenplay, dialogue and acting rather sucked.

i agree with link......just because its got good actors isnt gonna make it a mainstream success ..banking off the sequal and tryin to milk it for what its worth would be more of an instant mainstream success.......besides when was the last time you saw val kilmer in a mainstream success??....but whatever floats your boat...you would rather watch drag racing which has been done over and over in hollywood and i would rather watch something orginal that hasnt been beatein to death

I know a fair bit about movies, it doesn't show anything other than your ability to misinterpret this situation. I never said Top Gun was worse. I was trying to put across that to me, they are both pointless movies with similar elements as to why people like them. Except Top Gun leant more heavily on romance.

Where do you get the assumption that I like The Fast and The Furious? Tsk tsk. I think it's shit and pointless as I do Top Gun. I don't find men flying around in planes and falling in love to be a good movie. If you do, fine.

well my bad on the assumption but ummm i never said or thought once that top gun was about men fallin in lover with each other...pete mitchell fell in love with with his shrink which was a girl but no men falling in love...but i'm not gonna hate on you because you have those kind of thougths.....whatever floats your boat

For the record: Top Gun for its day and age was great, that is all. T&hose days of glory r far gone, but I don't refuse to admit that I liked it very much. Back then Tom and Val were not so popular, they got popular with Top Gun. It's cheesy but it's also good filming.
Fast and Furious - the first one was refreshing, cuz it was the first that portrayed the drag race like something very flashy and stylish. (the same concept was for Top GUn). It's a load of crap if u ask me.
I hate little girls pretending to be boys, hence all the Fast and Furious cast. Only Vin Diesel strikes u as a man there, all the others r just sissies trying to be him. Very lame picture.
Thing is that I always loved planes, and those f14 tomcat fights were great. I also have a passion for cars, therefore I also like F&F, but mostly cuz of its soundtrack and the Toyota Supra.
Oh I forgot Tom was great in Interview with a Vampire, also great movie (one of the best vampire movies)

But anyway im sticking with Antonio Banderaz, to me he seems like he's got that iron man look and tbh its about time he got recognised as a fairly descent actor (forget about spy kids 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and however many there was). Stark to me looks like he has that sort of hispanic look to him, especialy in the ultimates comics. But if all else fails then Tom Cruise isnt to bad a choice 😉

Then why not buy the soundtrack and watch a car show? Props don't make a movie.
On topic however, I saw Antonio Banderas on TV yesterday and he may make a very good Tony Stark if it came to it. Tom Cruise is the most obvious choice right now though.

They should pick an unknown or little known actor to play Iron Man. It is always best if the actor is not well known for other parts or it will not be as belivable in the role.
If Gibson played stark I will always be expecting him to put on blue face paint and start swinging a sword. Similar for Tom Cruise or other well know actors. If you notice comic to movie productions it is always beast if the lead actor is not very famous. That way you can always assossiate him with that character.
For me Michael Keaton will always be Batman and Christopher Reeve will always be Superman. When I was watching Daredevil I could not accept Ben Affleck as Daredevil because I had seen him in so many other movies.... For me it would be better if an unknown played Tony Stark, I am sure they can find someone.... they have done it with the rest of the comic book adaptations...
Going a bit off subject does anyone know who his enemy will be in the movie?
