Yeah but the fact still remains. If an acheologist finds the arc of the covenant that means the possibility that God actually gave Moses the stones with the commandments did actually happen.

But to answer your question: Yes, I’m saying the bible is not fact.

Do you apply this same rule to other religious books? Koran? Dhammapada? Kabbala? Or you only apply this rule to the Bible? I don't claim the Bible is Fact, but I also don't consider the Bible to be fabricated by some guy thousands of years ago.

They are not religious people? I guess my 12th grade High School Biology teacher wasn't a scientist at all. Strange the man was a devoted baptist and scientist. I guess they can't be both.

And yes you can study all Buddhism, Taoism, Islam and Hindu without being religious. You only do it for academic reasons NOT for spiritual reasons.

there is a difference between faith and believing everything that is written in the bible with questioning it, believing everything that is written in the bible without thinking of symbolic meanings and stuff is just being ignorant.

about this trojan horse thing:

if they found one, it would mean NOTHING about Homer's work. It would mean there was a wooden horse once yes, doesn't make the entire story all of a sudden pure fact.

and a myth always has a base of truth. It's fiction based on a "half-truth", while a legend is an unverified story handed down from earlier times.
