She hasn't always had short hair; that Venom origin's book showed her with black curly hair w/glasses. My guess is in separating from Eddie she gave herself her "short haired dyed blonde" makeover to start afresh.

Point being: Leslie and Donna both had literally 0 previous experience in dealing with their costumes and yet somehow both wound up having their hair "integrated" into their combined forms...

I wouldn't doubt for a second that the "template" a Symbiote takes from it's first host is sorta reused on each successive person it joins with; the Venom costume certainly supports that idea... maybe Thor is an aberration.

hell Thor has longer hair (leading up to a later post). That is why we have hairless She-Venom.

Actually... when Thor was shown as being Symbiote possessed in that what-if storyline his hair WAS integrated into their combined form... one of the reasons I think if Weying had long hair the costume would "work it into" it's combined design. Why wouldn't it take advantage of something like that; give the host inside another weapon to utilize especially if it's a woman w/long hair.

Well that really goes without saying; if a host wills it to be neon green w/polka dots then that's what it'll do.

The point I'm trying to make is I think if the (Venom) costume came across a woman with oodles of hair that it'd "naturally" take advantage of that aspect of it's host and endow and "Symbiofy" it, similar to what happened with Donna/Leslie. 😄

Remember, Donna and Leslies costumes both came from the Venom one... probably meaning they all follow the same general "principles" when it comes to "fresh" Symbiosis, ESPECIALLY in the case that they're all linked with the same species.

They probably didn't sit there during the linking process between them and their aliens saying: "Oh gee, I hope this endows my hair and makes it all thicker and tendril-like!" I HIGHLY doubt they were bald initially and willed the costume's to intermingle with their hair; that just seems too far fetched... it makes more sense it happened naturally... which is all I'm trying to get at. 🙂

Well, remember, that the Symbiotes also take the ideal form for their host. I think this more applies to hosts they join with for extended periods of time (or at least plan on). For example, when Pete first got the Symbiote, he had been admiring Spider-Woman's costume. Because of so, the Sym mimiced that (yes, yes, I know this is rehashed info, but stick with me).

During the period between which Mr. Fantastic had seperated the Symbiote from Peter and when it returned to his apartment for the second attempt to bond to Peter, the Symbiote went host hopping to make its journey a little easier. All of the hosts it uses during this period look exactly the same as when its linked to Pete, minus some alterations to the phisique (for example, one time, it links with a guy who has a beer gut.... so we get a Spidey-wannabe with a beer gut, lol).

When the Symbiote bonded to Brock, I don't think Brock was focusing so much on the overall appearence. From the way I took it, he just wanted something that could instill fear into others. The Symbiote took this knowledge and just modified its already "coded" appearence accordingly.

I think that when Donna and Leslie got their Symbiotes, their Others probably planned on being with them for quite some time, and at which point they did the whole "look into the deep recesses of the mind to find ideal appearence" deal. The difference being with Ann, is that she was used more as a tool to aid Eddie whenever she was linked to the Venom Symbiote. And so she gets lumped into the same catagory of hosts as the people who were used in the previous host-hopping time. The only difference, is now it uses Eddie's design as its base.

This is also supported in Seperation Anxiety, when the Venom Symbiote links with the guy at the truck stop in issue #3. It still retains Brock's new base design.

one last thing for the pokemon to get it finished: who would not like to be able to catch pokemon in real life and go on adventures and such. and the mystery dungeon games, i mean who wouldnt like to be able to use attacks like flamethrower and hyperbeam. my point in whole is that the reason i think pokemon is so popular is because its like a really cool alternate reality that ppl want to be in or somehing. in fact it could be an alternate reality.

that out of the way (i hope), kieken, i remember reading some part in the beginning of this thread that you said the pete admiring spidey woman costume thing, and also i remember someone else saying that spidey woman made her costume after the symbiote, and that spidey was questioning himself when the symbiote bonded to him. so which is da truth. im gonna knife myself when this is over

To continue on with the discussion I was having...

In any story I write or commission I have done... heck, in any Universe I deal with involving Symbiotes joining with a woman with long hair... you can be assured that their hair WILL be utilized by the aliens in some manner. Whether it turns it "thick" like what Donna/Leslie had in Separation Anxiety... or whether it just makes it into a simple whip-like section... it WILL be effected by Symbiosis with an alien costume.

Oh and I'm also steadfast about PERMANENT bonding meaning PERMANENT, (unlike some others out there)... even Marvel wound up going back on the PERMANENT part, but I won't; if I write something and put the word PERMANENT in front of BONDING, then that's just how PERMANENT the bonding is meant to be. 😛

All I know is this person is a DAMN good writer. I have not once been bored reading these stories. In fact, it leaves me wanting more.

At some point (I promise!) I'll add to both those stories and that Felicia one. Atm I'm working on a few other "snipets" of stories that've eaten away at my head for years, begging to be written. One is around 5 paragraphs atm while the other is like 2 so far...

Actually I've been tooling on the Symbiote themed Addventure stuff on www.superstories.net ... my author name of course there is Orangepoindexter. 😄

Oh and to comment on the Scike stuff... I personally don't care for the direction he's going visually with his female Venom themed art. His original Naomi stuff is classic in my eyes... he was definitely doing the best anime themed Symbiote stuff out there.

It's still solid looking art-wise, yes... but what sort of secret identity would a woman have if someone could not only identify her hair color but her general height and weight too? At least if a woman was rendered bald (or if her hair was coated in it's substance), she could maintain fairly total anonymity; with her hair color showing if she sneaks into a stall or something to change all a person tailing her has to do is wait till a girl w/her hair color comes out basically and attack...

Oh and Tasaku on Deviant Art ='s best Female Venom artist atm by far. Check him out if you haven't already.
