Any predictions for Carnage in New Avengers 2 ?

Well obviously it's not bad enough to close yet, hence why it is in future tense.

OK

what I meant was: From now on, any off topic conversation (specially comments about global moderators) will be reason enough for me to close this thread.

Fanfics could perfectly fit at the gen. fiction area. Don't post them in here anymore.

you understand now? or do I have to type it again?!

FeceMan: maybe she will, but I won't. Post an opinion like that about any KMC member again, and you'll be banned. Permanently.

ummmmm close enough.

Lol.

okay okay Paola...you win........we will go on topic....ONCE FEVER RED RETURNS!!! SHE ALWAYS GETS US ON-TOPIC!!!

also...la resistance lives on...

Well, I can understand not posting fan fic here- they do take up a lot of space. I assume we can continue to review them here, right?
__To me, fan ficcing is a way of discussing something. Rather than say, "wouldn't it be cool if..." you show why and how it would be cool. Rather than say, "I think this is what's going on in Venom's minds..." you show it in a story. Fan ficcing is really a way of responding to canon.
__Also, a lot of places where you can read fan fic don't allow for discussion; they don't have boards.

Without fanfic discussion, I would never have been invited here. Strange how the pieces fall together.
I just figured I'd let it be known, I'm gonna try to submit a rewritten, scripted version of "Symbiote Holocaust" to Marvel for publication. At this point, I will beg for a job as regular writer of ASM. Wish me luck, folks.

LUCK! That story is kick-@ss. It won't be about the quality, if they turn it down. They'll be afraid of the intensity. Also, I've heard they're quite reluctant to let unknowns handle major charactors like Carnage (they reserve them as carrots, or imprimaturs of success for favored writers who have "arrived"😉- and you give his powers a major boost. I personally think that it's called for, now that Toxin is so powerful, but that's perhaps not Marvel's intentions.
__I hope you'll finish the prose version.

I know you love the prose version, but honestly I don't think I'm gonna finish it. Especially since I'm planning on changing the ending. I was gonna end the prose version with Carnage's death, but I have such a better idea now for how I'm gonna end the story.
Unfortunately, that story's on the backburner for the moment. Right now I'm working on a story that involves the final battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. After that, I have a Shocker story to write, followed by Doc Ock, the Sinister Six, and Electro, so I'm gonna be a little busy with all these stories that I intend to have published. I'm gonna fit Carnage in there somewhere, probably in between the Goblin and Doc Ock stories I have planned.

Mmm, well, can I see the script version when it's done?

So what exactly is the story behind Toxin? I'm pretty sure I've jumbled it up quite a bit.

"Quite reluctant" to let newbies write certain stuff?! 😈 They [comics companies] don't let you WITHIN A MILE of top-drawer characters if you're a rookie, believe it! You have to work your way up to that. Slowly.

So it looks like I'll be sticking to fanfics, because writing Sonic the Hedgehog or something sounds like a real bore.

As for fanfics being posted here, since this is "the official Symbiote thread" I personally have no problem with people posting related fanfics here. This, after all, is where people interested in that subject-matter are going to be looking! What I find annoying are people posting completely-off-topic Star Wars fanfics here. Those not only do not belong in the thread, they do not belong in this entire forum.

Okay, back to trying to figure out what's going on in "Green Lantern: Rebirth" issue 1. [Hey, there's a dearth of good Spidey-stuff out there now, I have to keep busy somehow in-between the final exams! And V. vs C, is over too, curse it all.]

Me: "What the heck is going on in this thing? [flips GL comic upside-down, then rightside up.]

Me, voice 2: "Ahhh, with art like this, WHO CARES?!" [more drooling over the art.]

It's Paola's call- no fan-fic here. She's the mod, and this thread has been giving her acid indigestion since day one- we, ah, we have a tendancy, mmm, to be, hmmm, how shall I put this...mm, difficult? So we are to stick to Symbiote talk from now on...and, fan-fic, I'm not sure of her rationale- but possibly people have complained about the non-symbiote fan-fics that have been posted in here. She hardly wants to read all our material and make judgement calls as to what's sufficiently symbiote-oriented. In fact, I'd imagine she doesn't want to touch our creative output with a ten-foot pole.

Well?

But we're just SO good!

Of course you can, m'lady. Wanna help me compare it to the prose version to see which one sucks more?

Actually, I wouldn't mind writing Sonic the Hedgehog. I got stuff in mind for those characters, too.
I'm also brainstorming ideas for a Venom series (a good one, I mean. I couldn't stand the last series).

What was wrong with the last one, except for the art? The story was actually quite good. It'd have been better sans Wolverine & nuclear blast, but that kinda goes without saying.

With the right artist, that series would have ruled the Universe. It did remind me of how very, very much I loathe Hererra's art - that man should never be let within 100 paces of any Spidey book. I hate that manga ****. Hate it.

Yeah I know, but it kinda sucks that *all* fan-fic is banned because certain people cannot figure out where to post SW stuff. Everyone gets punished for the sins of a few [er, the sins of one.]

You're crazier than Kasady eating Froot Loops- you KNOW that story does not suck. Man, I love that story. The dialogue is perfect, charactorization is d@mn good, and the descriptive passages are a tense, hard style that is reminiscent of true crime or detective genres. Really appropriate, very masculine writing style that I enjoy. Also, it had Cletus Kasady in it. And, oh, man, the rape scene dialogue- I know it was villainous, but it was also kind of...funny. One of the things about Kasady that I enjoy (as a fictional charactor) is that he's full of sh!t. I just love a charactor that can be so banally evil- he's outright majectically diabolical one moment, then he's clumsily, foolishly, humanly, stupidly evil the next. Not everybody can get both aspects of Kasady up and running.
__Now stop your nonsense, or I'll write you into my fan-fic...

Well, like you said, there was the art. Herrera's art is so herrendous, I just can't stand to look at the pages. Also, I found the story to be pretty boring and convoluted, personally. I agree with you wholeheartedly about Wolverine and the nuke (aside from the fact that I doubt that Wolverine could survive a nuclear blast, or that even after the initial blast he wasn't bothered at all by the lingering thousand degree heat that a nuclear blast leaves around, there was also the fact that half of his clothes were still intact after said nuclear blast. A nuke can destroy Hiroshima, but not Wolverine's shirt apparently). Also, I'm left to wonder just what the hell happened after the ending, with the giant Venom monster walking away, and we hear nothing about it ever again. I also don't know where this story fits. It couldn't be before "The Hunger" because there's no giant Venom monster in that story, and it couldn't be after "The Hunger" because then there would have to be a giant Venom monster in the Marvel Knights series or in Venom VS. Carnage. Does this mean that Robertson's symbiote simply ceased to exist? I just found the writing to be mediocre. Personally, I'd have preferred it if Paul Jenkins had written that story. He could write a good Venom story.
Oh yeah, and it had clones in it.
